While he's living in a lovely utopian ideal, it would be nice to think people lotto for items they intend to use after all, it's not hard to get oodles of cash using the DF farm/salvage/trinket option.

He admitted himself it was a minor rant, and there is a world of difference between starting off having a moan at /as sales (which I personally dislike) then going off on one slamming people for playing the game the way they like (much in the same manner as Svart did over greyganking.)

He has the right to his opinion of course, as does everyone else, and noone is telling him he shouldn't be rolling for an item he can't use or to roll for one he intends to sell... theres a world of difference between the manner he took to voicing his views, than those that were minding their own businsess getting on with the game to have their style and the in-game economy blasted.

thing is in his minor rant he insulted people aswell. Still it would have been better to be above this and not start this thread, but he did take the piss out of some people ideas and opinions.

Thank you. It's nice to see someone actually READ what I SAID rather than just going off on one.

BTW I'm not living in a "utopian ideal", I just reckon this game could be played in a far more altruistic way to the benefit of all.

Please understand that people don't like to be told how to play the game, or to have their behaviour described as shitty - that really is insulting.

And as I said before, theres a world of difference between "I don't like that..." and this post (which I've edited so you can see the offensive bits where people are told what to do with drops and that their actions are [instert expletive]

Besides you said yourself that allthough lotto'ing for purely selling is bad, but that lottoing for using the drop and then getting a good bid on it and so sell it isnt bad. So where exactly do we draw the line?
And if a raid is setup under the rules that selling is ok and everyone knows that, why is that then still shitty? Everyone knows it and everyone is allowed to do it.

And saying that selling is wrong is insulting as you were saying that they are greedy and harming the realm.

tbh the way they do it in hib prydwen is best pretty much what your saying you can only take / bid for the item if you can use it and are (or close enough) level carnt remember names but i was half a level from 50 and i didnt get the item because of that half level but they wanted the item to USE not abuse
