To Respecc or not to respecc

With 1.59 obviously there will be a few more thanes around than there are now, but i checked some boards and asked some questions about respeccing from 46SC 44hammer 42 shield to 48 SC 42 hammer/shield.

So i was just wondering what all the other thanes are planning to do . .

Im still pretty undecided on the whole fact so i guess ill just w8 and see

I'm 48/42/42 atm

Love it, Bolt does decent damage, can slam, can hit for 150-250 on most lvl 50's.

Yeah i was looking at hammer spec line and i lose sledgehammer but i was thinking that i hardly ever get of a sledgehammer. Plus my hammer is at like 58 or something with SC items so not alot of worries about damage neither.

The thing that exites me the most is to be able to stand back and nuke without having tons of people shouting at you for breaking the mezz

Recently swapped from 46 SC 44 Hammer 42 Shield, to 50 Hammer 42 Shield 39 SC.

Reasonably happy with it. But then I am more PvE so this fits me I think.

Will likely try some other combinations, and am undecided what to do about 1.59.

I don't like the fact I cannot carry a ram unencumbered anymore tho.

atm my spec is 44hammer/42shield/46SC, but when 1.59comes i think im gonna spec to 39hammer/42shield/50SC(for the last con/str buff, is the str buff fixed to?)

tbh this is the best spec i can think of, even tho u lose weapon skill because u have less hammer spec you will prolly make it back up from the extra str u get in the best str buff

Litmus, I think you might run into the same problem as before that the 2nd best str/con buff already caps you even though last one is best.

I'm 48/42/39/15 and I think it's equal with 48/42/42 or maybe a tad better.

Sarnat you should do some research before commenting

2nd best Str/Con self buff (41 Stormcalling spec) delves for 41/41 Str/Con and actually buffs for 51/51 Str/Con (LESS THAN THE 26 Shaman STR/CON!!!!!)

Best Str/Con self buff (50 Stormcalling spec) delves for 50/50 Str/Con and actually buffs for 62/62 Str/Con (LESS THAN THE 36 Shaman Str/Con buff).

Basically if your not gonna spec 50 Stormcalling, be resigned to never using your self buff when you have a shaman about as his/hers will GUARANTEED be better (I dont know ANY shaman that doesnt have at least 26 Aug)

Anyway also remember Thanes DONT get a free respec in 1.59 so unless you still have yours from back in 1.52 you wont be able to change your spec.

Sarnat btw are you gonna Spellcraft your Thane? and if so what skill are you gonna boost?

I have zero spec and just managed to squeeze +75 Str/Con/Dex/Qui/Pie 11 Hammer/Shield 200hp 26%x9 resists from a 6x MP piece 2x 99% piece suit. its impossible for me to add parry to that, I assume with 15 parry spec you will want to add +Parry to your suit?

i think the new con buff will work the same way as our srt buff works atm, atm our buffs act like the base buffs that healers/shammys giv us, and the best base con buff a shammy/healer can give us is only 47, but with the lvl50 spec in stormcalling u get the 50 con buff which givs 3 more con then the healer/shammy one does. then on top that u can still have the shammy aug specline buffs

still a bit gay tho, champs con buff it worth about 62or something while we only get 50

actually the buffs from a healer/shaman depend on the aug spec.. 2/3 spec there buffs give 1.25 * the delve value.. so the str buff @ lvl 43 actually gives 50 str with 2/3 aug spec.

your right about the champ buff.. it says 62 str/con but with 50 valour it actually gives them 75 str/con double stat cap.. where as the thane`s buff only gives about 61-65 str/con with 50 SC..

I just gave you the FACTS and your still guessing Litmus? dont you believe me? or are ya a tad confused?

and its a single buff, a STR/CON Buff just like Shammy spec one.
Oh and it doesnt stack with the Shamn spec buffs (obvious but just in case people aint clear ).
Oh and the buff is a direct replacement of our capping single str buff, we LOSE that one

So with that here are the actuals

Shaman 26 Str/Con buff = 46 Delve, 57 actual at 2/3rds Aug Spec (33 which is like 1 above what most Shamans spec Aug to these days, add a RR and your buffs will all be worth 1.25x delve )

Thane 41 buff = 41 Str/Con delve 51 actual

.......Shammy wins................yay

Shaman 36 Str/Con = 57 Delve, 71 actual
Thane 50 buff = 50 Str/Con delve = 62

.......Shaman wins again.......yay

Shammy Cave Shaman spec today = 41 Cave 32 Aug 14 Mend (accounts for majority of active RvR cave shamies). They will all outbuff any Thane that doesnt go 50 Stormcalling.

If Thanes wanna save the Shaman conc points (as we currently do with our Str buff) we will have to eitehr spec to 50 Stormcalling for a competitive buff or use a low delve self buff (the 41 Str/Con).

I forsee many Thanes will prolly go and respec to 50 SC 42 SHield 39 Weapon rest parry. I may do so myself , time will tell.

Anyway the buff is not the important change the removal of the Castable DD timer is the biggest boost for the class Looking forward to it

TBH im almost always buffed by a shaman when RvRing so the str/con buff is only good for me if/when i try a bit of solo RvR

But like Solid the biggest boost for me is the single RECASTABLE DD
