To Mattshanes Re: gloating

Last night I was in Emain running from APK to AMG to suicide on the guards after a long and successful relic raid defence against the Mids. I'm ahead of my group. I see 1FG of Albs ahead and think, ah I'm going to die anyway let's have some fun. So I pick a caster (want to get some RPs before I die) and charge. Just happens to be Mattshanes. Slam, spear spear ... Mattshanes almost dead. Stun wears off, bubble cuts in, almost pull it off but all Mattshanes pals save him and I die. No prob, it was fun, at least I had a go.

Next I see Mattshanes standing over me using /beckon and /victory

Hmmm.

Are you really that proud of ganking someone with 8:1 odds.

Feel really sorry for you pal, you obviously have a complex of some sort. I always treat my RvR opponents with respect with a a /salute or /bow.

I'll be looking for you specially next time in Emain. Don't expect to get so lucky again :)

Hmm I was there and honstely didn't see that but I don't approve if even an awful lot of people seem to be doing. I apologise on behalf of Albion.

Sorry if i upset you,but reason why i did it because i was annoyed that every hib goes for me its dam true!.Especially heroes oh well was only messing about sorry about it.

Mainly was annoyed after distracting 20 mids and no one charges.....

As for people i kill never i hardly do that,just was very annoyed last night,good luck with your hero in emain.

Why do people whine over these things, jumping on your corpse, waving, beckoning, vicotry etc. whats so bad about it?

And when you say gloating?, "After we Successfully defended against mid!" or something like that :D

Instead of making these threads go kill him instead, as you failed

I think you have a complex of some sort if you get upset about this :) It's a game after all.

I don't know who you are,yet i don't care but i respect every dam daoc player there is and for making it a good fun game to play.I help as much as i can unlike some otherwise, if i didn't respect them for what they are it be plain ignorant wouldn't it?

I am just fed up of all this zerging crap which i am sure most people are,i got mauled by hibs last night also a few fgs of mids.

I picked you out Mattshanes because you were more or less the first person I saw running towards me and clearly a robed caster - couldn't exactly miss the bright (gold?) robes. No point trying to take on another tank with 1:8 odds.

Yep, casters do get targeted quick. I can't speak for all tanks, but last night aside, the reason I usually go for casters in a battle is not because I want an easy kill, but because I fear the damage they'll cause if left upright. Simple as that.

Anyway, to Mattshanes - thanks for the apology. To others - you won't change my mind about corpse taunting. Yeah it's only a game, but stuff like that creates bad feeling. Imagine a football game where the scorer flips an insulting gesture at the goalkeeper after scoring (yeah probably happens in some matches, but it's not the norm).

As for zergs, totally agree. Hate them and try to avoid them. But everyone always winds up in Emain. Should try runs to Odins and Hadrians a bit more.

hmm personally i think you are just a bad looser if you cant even take a few emotes... i mean cmon /beckon and /victory lol how can you complain on that ??? its your own fault charging 8 people. ofcourse mattshanes will be happy to just survive and emote you a bit, if you are so sensitive about it maybe you should stay at home in hib :p
And we are KILLING eachother here, we are not playing football.
what kind of feeling would it be if we just run around respecting eachother, soon we would all be friends instead :p it is called Realm Versus Realm for a reason.
trolls laughing at me when im dead just adds to the feeling of war and i feel like go back and have sweet revenge.

Bad loser? Not at all. As I mentioned in my initial post, I solo charged 1FG and fully expected to die and didn't really hope to take anyone with me at those odds. As I said, it was fun, I had a go. I just found it a bit surprising at the time that killing me in that situation was much to be proud about really and to get those emotes. Anyway, respect to Mattshanes for explaining, I understand his answer and agree that I was probably being over sensitive. So there you go, I'll admit that and we can call it quits.

Got a fair bit I'd like to add about why just because it's a 'war' doesn't mean repsect goes out the window, but will move it to another thread as that would be more appropriate.

you are right, respect shouldnt go out the window, and i salute my enemies also, after a good fight (if i won which is not often :p)

And btw, ive been really curious about a 1v1 with a Hero so if you see me out there (blue tincan) Id like a fight :)
