To GTV or not to GTV?

Should GTV be used in the Q3CTF League?

Pro's - Spectacting of games, increases interest in league.

Con's - We cannot delay GTV due to it causing problems with the server it uses, therefore there is a small potential for it to be exploited.

I'd have to say with no delay I wouldn't feel happy with GTV...the temptation for a team mate on RW *not* to give out helpful info in a closely fought clan game may well be too much for some to resist.

If there could be a 10 or 15 second delay, then it would be fine as any info would be out of date...how much extra space would that much delay take?

Switch it on in real time. It would be good for the game and good for BW. I get fed up when I have to sit a game out and all I can hear is the radio chatter.

However, it must be made legal for your teammates to give you information about the other teams whereabouts. this would make the game a lot faster as the flaggy would no longer be able to sit it out in one spot during flag exchange situations. Ah, who am I kidding? Everybody knows where the flaggy is going to hang out on most maps now anyway, so no loss to the game.

What's that you say, the opposing team always know when you're mounting an attack? So what, the game is already so artificial it wouldn't matter anyway. I mean come on, central choke points on every map to beef up the action? What a joke.

To not make it legal would be fairly pointless, as people would have to be really really stupid or really really honest not to use the online viewing to their teams advantage.

If anybody doesn't like it they don't have to play.

Irony? I've heard of it.

What if a clan has relatively few members, and on a certain match night they cant muster 6 bodies. This puts them at a disadvantage that they shouldnt really be punsihed for.

I would like to add that although I'm against GTV *without* a delay, I'm very much in favour of it with say a 10 or 15 second delay.

And the honest would suffer. It's not a case of 'if everyone can do it, then its fair', cos some people would choose not to cheat and therefore be penalised for it. I for one wouldn't want to win a game that way, or know ive lost cos I wouldnt use it.
If it's used, it's got to have a delay imo.

There's still a lot of people who ask for GTV on CTF nights. However if it's going to cause problems then it's obv more trouble that its worth.
