To All Mids part of the zerg in Emain

To All Mids whom are apart of the zerg in Emain

I would like to remind the Mids that are apart of the main Mid zerg in Emain, the pointlessness (as I see it) of running from amg towards the Alb telekeep when:-

i/ any Albs outnumbered will simply retreat and fortify themselves back to the telekeep

ii/ the route is usually lined with enemy stealthers who can pick off those lagging behind and also give accurate readings of your numbers to the Albs at the tk and will know whether it's worth coming down or not to fight us

iii/ not everyone gathered at amg will follow which means people will be left behind and the army is split, thus weakening the overall strength and risking all concerned a greater chance of being overun

iv/ the Albs won't come down from their tk, the Mids cant do bugger all except run back to amg again (which happens 99.9% of the time)

v/ things go bad at the Alb tk and people die, then those that run back to amg are now under presure to go back and rez the fallen which the Albs will be aware of

vi/ those that are left behind at amg face being zerged by Hibs and those that run towards alb tk are flanked between Albs and Hibs in no man's land and have less than a 1 % chance of survival

On 2 occasions today we had a sufficient force of 40 + gathered at amg. We had defeated the Albs at mmg and amg earlier so the prospect of us dealing with any Alb or Hib forces looked in our favour. However both times the end result was the same conclusion. We were all wiped out due to those individuals that simply have no patience and cannot stay still for 5 - 10 minutes, and have to go searching towards Alb tk splitting the main force into sections and weakening its strength.

It's a pointless waste of people's time and energy whom subsequently die, release and have to make the journey back because of a lack of common sense among certain players with no strategy or patience. These sort of actions were occuring months ago, I really would have hoped Mid players would have learned the lessons by now that the Albs play a waiting game at Alb tk.

In order to avert from the problems mentioned, people need to organise themselves better and ensure this occurs on a much more regular basis.

For starters, someone needs to assert some leadership and start up a chat group and then proceed to invite all the group leaders present. This will ensure there is better communication among all those gathered. Get a plan together and make sure everyone knows what the plan is, and that everyone moves to the destination together as one force. If you need to check the situation at Alb tk, then ask a group of stealthers if they are willing to travel there and report back intelligence.

And especially lets try and show some patience. Whats the difference of waiting 5 - 10 minutes for the Albs or Hibs to show up rather than dying releasing and making the journey back and having to restruture again. Go and work it out.

And if you absolutely have to go to the Alb TK, then make sure everyone is present when moving and do not leave anyone behind.

PS this thread is not aimed at those that are soloing or in a group or small groups that are alone and farming.

PPS Also I'm not suggesting that Mids are completly disorganised. In fairness there has been some decent organisation in the past, but it needs to be addressed and functional on a regular basis.

Aye, I was a in the zerg today and noticed the same tendencies, the pointless running back and from AMG - ATK, that people can't stand still for more than one minute at the time and how this affected the whole midgardian army to the 2 complete wipeouts we had (I logged before any other wipeouts so don't shoot me for not being there to die and witness it ;) ).

Some very good points you have and I for one agree 100% on them, but it can't be expected that everyone is fully aware of the impacts on these and there must be teached on how to.. this will not come easily and it will take time before such a large army (zerg-proportions in this case) will be organized all the time.

As to the previous point I had on the teaching I've witnessed in the last time that more and more of these level 50 newbies (no negative meaning, or should I've used the term "a tad bit inexperienced ones" instead? ) only this day I witnessed on 2 occasions several individuals getting lost in the (to me) simple landscape of emain..

back to the topic, Organization is a must have if we expect to succseed with such a large force (yes, we had some really great battles that we won also). The CG is and will be a great part of this and we will have no need for the dominant leader types we have running around (no harm intended to anyone feeling struck) since most decisions will be made in the CG with feedback from most people.. (this also has it's flaws also)..

Just my 2 cents on this topic, I attended the zerg we had today and I really enjoyed it, and who said that the albs er the only one that can zerg? ;)

Zilly, you're right. I watched it and chuckled a little at first. Went back, realised it was going to be exactly the same... then took a small force of us off to Alb to cause merry havoc there. Hooked up with some guys from Warders and ended up taking a keep before heading back to DF which was now open to us. Spent the rest of the afternoon farming seals (no, I'm not Canadian), with some nice peeps who were along for the xp.
