time demo

i've just got a shiny new gf2 pro and wanna check out my video cards performance on quake3. trouble is, i cant seem to get the time demo to run.

at the console i type \timedemo 1 and hit return
i get a message saying that timedemo is cheat protected.

i then type \demo demo001
it starts to load another map but just kicks me back to the menu.

anyone know whats goin on and how i can get the timedemo to run

are you running 1.30?

I dont know why it say's cheat protected.

but the thing with the demo, it may be to old.
i.e.
the file extension should be named
"dm_66"
e.g.
demo.dm_66 or else they wont work..

I don't know if it is possible to upgrade them either..

Do /timedemo 1 from the console rather than in-game, if you aren't already.

it seems they've changed how it works.if u go to demos on the in game menu,and just click on the demo there,it'l run a fast demo.if u then bring down the console u'l get ur avarage fps.i assume thats what u wanted?
