I doubt Malice can be Thrust version ?

I wouldn't have thought so, looks bad enough with crush styles with Malice :p.

Less polls too please :(

Pole / Crush with mine for now, auto-trained, until i find some real good high utility Thrust RoGs and/or see how the champion thrust versions are.

In general:

Groups : Thrust pole is best for an Albion perspective, its neutral to all hibs and good vs all of midgard's key classes (support and chain wearers etc). And is only resisted by a minority, that being mid stealthers and zerkers.

Solo : Crush pole is better if you solo, being neutral or good vs most people your likely to meet. Currently this is what I use.

Slash : Absolutely horrible to use for an Albion.

Malice : It can only being a Slash polearm.

This sucks immensely, its dispicable that mythic have only done half a job in making it polearm but only slash. Why it cannot be crush when its already availible as 2H crush to everyone else I don't know.

But anyway, there you have it, if you can live with being Slash then sure, go Malice pole, however Slash damage in general sucks for Albion.

Thrust is better, since the majority of your enemies will either be neutral or weak to thrust damage. of course, I don't mind in the slightest if you go slash :)

Ain't the Two-hander styles quite a bit better than Polearm ... at least for one that groups?

Higher utility/damage styles?

Ie, back/side snare styles with 0.80 GR. Second in chain side stun, etc, etc.

Anytime snare on Pole.
Anytime stun with slam.
Follow up stun with Pole.

Also pretty sure that Pole has higher growth rates.

Which it doesn't. The anytime snare is 0.6 in Pole. The back/side snare is 0.8 in Two-hand.

Where is the ''full sword & board'' option in the poll? :touch:
Far better imo

Imo for RvR crush pole is the best as i was that spec for over 1 year!
Then again i wasnt a hybrid, i was 50 pole 50 crush and was the hardest hitter at the time in alb ;)
Thos were the days.... :(

Ps. I remember hitting Grymligast the 'SB' for over 1300 hit points once!

No, they are identical in what they offer, except the polearm styles have better growth rates.

Both lines have ok anytime chains ( aside from pole having anytime snare ontop)

2 style 9 second stun chain and snare chain

2 style reactionary chain, except poles reactionary is the highest growth rate of any line at 1.2 hitting almost as hard as a PA.

The only differance is that one stun chain is side positional the other is rear positional and you can argue till blue in the face over whats easier to pull off.

Unless your on a Druid/Warden/champion/hero/Zerker/Savage

And thrust is bonus damage vs :

Healer
Shaman
Skald
Thane
Valkyrie
Warrior

Also 6 classes. However its also neutral to :

Champion
Druid
Hero
Warden
Animist
Bainshee
Eldritch
Enchanter
Mentalist
Valewalker
Reinforced
Bard
Blademaster
Ranger
Leather
Nightshade
Vampiir

And resisted by a total of 4 mid classes.

Unlike slash which is resisted by
Healer
Shaman
Skald
Thane
Valkyrie
Warrior

Bard
Blademaster
Ranger
Nightshade
Vampiir

hmmmm 11 classes.

Compare to crush shall we ?

Healer
Shaman
Skald
Thane
Valkyrie
Warrior
Bonedancer
Runemaster
Spiritmaster
Warlock
Berserker
Hunter
Savage
Shadowblade

Animist
Bainshee
Eldritch
Enchanter
Mentalist
Valewalker

thats 20 neutral, and :
Bard
Blademaster
Ranger
Nightshade
Vampiir

5 vulnerable

And only :

Champion
Druid
Hero
Warden

4 resistant.

TWO HANDED
4 - Double Back - 0.63 (Pre: Behind, Stun 2s)
6 - Rile - 0.60 (Taunt)
10 - Two Fist - 0.90 (Pre: Double Back, Bleed)
12 - Bone Bruiser - 0.45 (Pre: None, ASD)
15 - Onslaught - 0.90 (Pre: Side, Snare).
18 - Fury - 0.88 (Pre: Parry, Bleed)
21 - Bone Splitter - 0.90 (Pre: Bone Bruiser, Snare)
25 - Recenter - 0.90 (Pre: Fury)
29 - Bone Breaker - 0.72 (Pre: Bone Splitter, Bleed)
34 - Obfuscate - 0.90 (Pre: Fury, ASD)
39 - Doubler - 0.80 (Pre: Behind, Snare)
44 - Two Moons - 0.90 (Pre: Onslaught, Stun 9s)
50 - Sun and Moon - 1.00 (Pre: Doubler, Stun 7s)

POLEARM
4 - Def. Cross - 0.62 (Pre: Side, Snare)
8 - Def. Faith - 0.36 (Pre: None, Bleed)
10 - Executioner - 0.90 (Pre: Parry, Snare)
12 - Distract - ?? (Pre: None, Taunt)
15 - Def. Courage - 0.70 (Pre: Def. Faith, ASD)
18 - Crippling Blow - 0.50 (Pre: None, Snare)
21 - Disabler - 0.73 (Pre: Def. Cross, ASD)
25 - Phalanx - 0.75 (Pre: Behind)
29 - Mangle - 0.83 (Pre: Crippling Blow)
34 - Def. Rage - 1.20 (Pre: Target Styles)
39 - Poleaxe - 0.90 (Pre: Def. Rage)
44 - Def. Revenge - 0.88 (Pre: Phalanx, Stun 9s)
50 - Def. Aegis - 0.95 (Pre: Phalanx, Snare)

So, let us look at this.

An Pole Armsman on a fleeing target can use the 0.5 GR Crippling blow and backup with Defenders Cross (0.62). That gives a typical GR situation of around 0.5 to 0.6.

He could try to do a Phalanx for either the snare or the stun. That's risky though as Phalanx got no effect. It's an option ofcourse that would yield better damage (0.75 + 0.88/0.95).

A Two-hand Armsman can use Doubler (0.8) or Onslaught (0.9) followed up by the two Moon styles that stuns if he so chooses.

So, I would honestly say in a situation where an Armsman takes down a fleeing target, Two-hand is far superior. Better damage on the styles. Better utility in the option to stun whenever first hit lands.

Now, for an anytime style I don't know what GR Distract have. I would take a fair guess at 0.6 as that's the common for taunts. However, that's just a guess. Perhaps someone can clarify?

And yes, for duels Pole Armsman is far superior due to Defenders Rage. But, I don't suppose you pick style line due to which line is best in duels. :)

I don't want to be too dependant on groups to play my class. That's why I went for Pole Crush. Might change to 2H, as the 2H Malice is not gimped. Currently Bruiser in template. Despite of people saying it's crap (why), it has a good utility.

I also think it will be rather slam (walk-through if needed), Phalanx and follow-up style.
