One thing, (and yes i know this should go in HL forum but there ya go ) the mouse in CS is bloody weird. Is there a definate answer to this problem ? I tried the noforceaccel bit in the shortcut target, but will that work if I am accessing cs via ASE ?

Itchy, when i tried to add that to the command line in the custom config bit of ASE, (for retail cs if that makes a difference) it wouldnt exec the program.
Any ideas ? It went into the shortcut i created, but not into the original icon (like my avatar if that helps ).

I had mouse problems in CS when i went to XP throd, this may not be nowt to do with it but i turned FSAA off in the display properties and i upped me up date rate and fps, when you get it all sorted you will never look back mate, XP is great(and before you say it guys i tried Win 2k and didnt like it).Turn the desktop settings to performance rather than quality as well that improves the look somewhat mate.

I have a Radeon 8500LE, XP1700+, and 512Mb DDR RAM. After a bit of bios tweaking, I score a sniff under 7800, so your machine is underperforming somewhere. Get tweaking that bios, you should be able to pull it up to 8000 at least. Just remember how to reset it if you fuck it up.

Ahh Athlon 2.0+ with geforce ti4 440 ,512 ddr ram asus motherboard, 19 inch flat screen monitor (omg looks awesome),
some kind of great creative sound card .
Tbh it was more money than I wanted to spend, but I went to that evesham place Embattle was on about ,saw these pc's and thought, no too dear. Then spent the next day and a half driving around seeing loads of other pc's that were like £400 cheaper ,but not really a patch on theirs. In the end quality won out and I had to drive back to Croydon
Another interesting statstic, my old p3 1gig / gf3 does 115 fps with minor adjustments on the latest q3 demo at 1024-768.
The new one does 205 !!
