Threats...

Can anyone tell me what it means when you get a threat warning appear.

I have been sticking to high sec systems, and occasionaly a passing player will jump up on my screen as a threat, usually with a flashing yellow box by their name.

Is this just telling me there is another player within range, or has this player done something to instigate the threat warning? So far I have just ignored it and carried on without any further consequences, but would be good to know why its preceived as a threat.

means the player has either locked onto you, or the player has a bad security rating. They could also be scanning you.

Just follow my advice and shoot anything that has threat, of course you will need to have a big ship and microwarp

I get threat warnings all the time, most the time they're false

Yellow=bad sec.
Blinks orange=locked on to you.

That's how it worked in beta.
