Thoughts on this post-respec Armsman spec..

Well, currently I've got 50 shield 50 slash 28 parry... I was thinking 50 crossbow, 41 shield, 28 slash, 17 two handed, 17 poleram, 16 thrust might be uber. Anyone have the same idea?

hmm,

43 x-bow,
42 shield,
34 slash,
32 parry

with RR + items, you should be able to get slash to 40, and x-bow as well


I'd actually call that a pretty uber armsman spec.... not like they hit anything in RvR

If you were to do something like that, what's the point of having 43 crossbow when you could have, say, 43 poleram? I don't think crossbow has any use except for tagging enemies for realm point farming. That or interupting casters at keep defense and what not.

Wasn't there a post here eons ago about some yankee having 50 xbow and doing some pretty nasty damage with it?

I might respec to this, I call it Tehüberomgxbow-spec:

46 xbow
44 slash
42 shield
3 parry
3 leftovers

I can see why people would go with the xbow, or at least I think I can see why

Anyways why bother going to 40+ in it? For "styles", I dunno if xbow has that, does it?

But don't gimp yourself by going so high in it, settle for 36 tops or something, should be able to get it to 40+ easily enough and if you manage to get a decent rr you will hit the magic 50.

Interesting idea tho, would love to know what damage a high xbow spec armsman can do, heh.

Well I only have 16 speced in x-bow but when pulling i do about 90damage to a red con so it might be worth a look

Vince, Pixie, i'd go for 50 x-bow for nasty range damage. rumor has it, that range is calculated as a direct from spec.

i'd also go 3 in shield for that wicked Numb style. i mean, a 0.00001 second stun, use Anytime? you'd be gimped if you didnt get it!

you would have the privilege of having 1700 points leftover to showoff to your friends at the pub.

At 46xbow you get the Side Shoot.
Positional style, from the side of the enemy.
It's a 17 second stun.

Un-trained, with only one dysfunctional arm, we still do more damage than scouts with 50 longbow +11. As proved in the scientific 'Labs o' Vincible' (which, incidently, also proved that exercise is bad for one's health).

i've heard, that if you leave ALL your skill points unused, you do max damage on each swing, hit faster and harder, and you can chain stun.

Might be worth it, altho, 17 seconds on a buckshot aint too bad either

Didn't think there was any styles in crossbow at all ?

Just improves damage and to hit, And mine is only level 4 +something and still doing 90 odd damage on oranges but often alot more, so I don't think it makes a huge differance how high you spec it.

If your range improved with the spec i'd consider it, but the short range makes it virtually useless except for pulling and catching the odd enemy off-guard in rvr.

crossbow spec will increase your damage, same as weapon spec (but no styles)

so 50 crossbow will do lots of damage actually using it is a different thing though.

Yes, thats true.
But it was a bug, so they implemented Autotrain to counter it.
Atleast it debugged some specclines.
I think they set autotrain to ALL specclines in 1.57 (or so I heard), to finally fix the bug once and for all.
