Games This mornings patch - warning

OK so logged in this morning post patch and filled half a bar of XP on linux in the Haunted Forest. During that time the game froze completely twice. It also froze during the load bar after login. This is a new failure mode for me as usually the game just crashes to desktop.

After finally logging back in I played another 30 mins then logged out to login screen to go have some lunch. On return, I can't login Linux. Everytime I try it just locks up and freezes during the load bar. I can login every other char and play without crashes. Ran the check tool, no issues found!

Now reloading and patching from scratch

Hope no one else has same issues.

I played for about 1 hr after the patch then the game went all black screen and I got a message saying that AoC had stopped working. I had no problems prior to this . Ain't tried to play it since but am going to try now.

Sadly everyone has these issues with Field of the Dead. Freezes / lockups / crashes you name it. But not being able to log in is a new one.

Atm I need to take out some faulty RAM to use my vista PC but I'd rather read for exams atm.

first of all they should remove fog/rain from Field of the Dead... fcking stupid if u ask me!

Ok, after several hours of reloading and patching. I tried again, sadly same result. So I then logged in another char to use the /petition system. My issue was resolved with two very simple commands:

/petition <issue description>

then do:

/petition classes

A dialogue box appears and one of the selections is cant log char in or constant reboots. I clicked on the highlighted text and immediately got the message in guild chat, 'Linux has just logged out'

I was on Java my HoX. So exited and tried to log back to Linux, it worked fine. It looks like the char was stuck in-game, not logged out.

I had the same thing after I crashed in FotD. Just log out, wait 10 mins and log back in. Should be sorted. You should still be able to read guildchat and type in it with /gu.

No go check official forums, pre patch loads had this problem, they crashed zoning in some where stuck for up to 12 hours before they recived help. I crashed loading the zone, and tried disabling all sounds in even the advanced part. And was able to login and play without problems as soon as i turned on the sounds in Field of Death i would crash.

You also have that "invalid game error" that you some times get when crashing out of the game then trying to login, and then not seeing gulid/group, my way of fixing that is /camp wait 30 sec, login another char on another server.
