that's a new joke
excal is running on the best daoc server platform they have - same as avalon and the bigger US servers.
It used to run fine - about 8 patches ago - something _Mythic_ has introduced has either just increased the footprint so it won't run with as many people, or has introduced a nasty memory leak somewhere or a crash bug
because it happens on their servers too
