i was just wondering whether this game was any good???

ive seeen reviews but sometimes reviews can be deceiving....

so what do u guys think? is it worth buying from multiplayer point of view or what???

I've not played it multiplayer yet, but single player is very good - a worthwhile purchase for that alone. And multiplayer should kick ass when I get round to it.

Single player it's damn hard, but rewarding. Best war simulation I've played. It has a easy to use mission editor as well.

Multiplay needs some work and there will be a patch out soon although it's good for a quick blast now and then

OFP is an truly excellent single-player game. It needs way more than 30 seconds of play. If you're used to CS or Q3 then you'll need to be prepared to completely change your playing style.

Multi-player, although fun, is in its very early stages and will possibly disappoint the same CS and Q3 players until the dedicated server patch (including a whole host of extra online features and missions) is released in August/September.

The game has been built to last. The mission editor is very easy and capable of making online maps, mods are encouraged. I expect to see the same type of mod diversity over the next couple of years as there are with Half-Life today.

I spent some time with the controls trying to configure them but it wouldn't let me use the mouse wheel for what I wanted .

And you have to admit the gfx look pretty messy .

Persevere with the control system, and it's not a bad game. It doesn't have the immediate 'pick up and play' of other FPS, but it's not bad (the radio messages get confusing though).

The bug that prevents you from using your team-mates on the sniper mission sucks though. It's really hard to get away after popping the 3 spetsnatz guys.
