This Barrys, PCXL voting etc....

Paid a visit to the PCXL.com and it does indeed pale in comparison to Barrys in many ways as well as appearence and content.

Anyway, the main point is I went onto their discussion and Rant boards and got the general idea that this person who's been coming over onto Barrys Messageboard isn't worth replying to. Insults don't mean a thing to this person.

Obvious really I suppose, but after going onto the PCXL site, it was confirmed.

He's probably about 12 y/o, sits at his PC with his so called mate thinking up big adult words to type in!

If you read the Rants on PCXL, he gets flamed by all the americans too. Who then go onto flame each other.

PCXL IMO is just a site for adults by adults read by children. There is no gaming news worthyness, they update once a day, with information on how they are doing in their polls, and show a new "babe" Picture every day.

If you read the Rants they get slated for not updating either

How they get compared to BW I don't know!

As has already been pointed out, a lot of the rants are along the lines of "Canada sux, US roolz", therefore I suggest we pay a visit to some Canadian BBS/Forums/Messageboards to find ourselves some willing support ?

Listen I have nothing against you guys. And I love PCXL. i think it's a great magazine. I think that its about time that a pc game magazine had a sense of humor. I'm not goig to knock this site because it's been beautifully put together. I should know, because that's what i do for a living. I would like to know though, is why you feel the need to retalliate against these insignificant kids. Do they really get to you that bad?
Another thing, have any of you ever Read PCXL? It is nothing like the web site. The web site is just a big spoof. They do have game news on there sometimes, but it's just out there for fun. Do you guys know what fun is? Sorry, but if you re trying to act mature and sophisticated, your plan just backfired. Snapping back at a kid is one of the most immature things you could possibly do.

I have read PCXL, and at first I thought it was good. But then I wanted some interesting stuff (like a good review) and there was none! I looked from cover to cover and all I could find were these "oh so funny" reviews and crap.
And as to us being immature, we have every right to get annoyed when someone comes onto BW and starts saying it's crap, and PCXL is better etc.

You'll find that this thread began with a paragraph stating why maybe we shouldn't reply to the person in question. There is nothing there about snapping at the person.

Or maybe your referrgin to previous threads which have been closed.

I hope that I speak for everyone here:
We have nothing whatsoever against your magazine, everyone has their own personal tastes and we are free to choose what we like.

However, that does not give people the right to START OFF a huge fued like this, I have no reason to doubt that the PCXL site may be a 'spoof' - So is our opinion of this whole voting thing.

What gets me is that this McKerney person feels that it is his God given right to go around saying what he has said, it appears that he has not a single though for other people and his tastes.

I respect that- I think we all do.

However, our retaliation in this matter has been purely based around the fact that he has started this off, he has taken it into his own hands that he is on this earth to be 'the best at everything' and to make sure everyone knows just how 'cool' he is.

he is immature and annoying. We have no means of smacking him round the face via our phonelines (yet) so we have to get rid of him. If he were sticking to just the one troublesome thread, then maybe that's acceptable- BUT he has decided that he will cause trouble in other discussions too, this is totally out of order. He has nothing worthwhile to say and breaks up the conversation/

I have stated the case for barrysworld and to annoy you all furthur I will now suggest some action for us to take, maybe to show some REAL maturity?

1. Ignore him, I know he's asking for it but if you don;t reply to him them he will increase his posts at first, then give up and go back to his barbie dolls.
2. Dlete his account. Easy really, I know it's amuing in the insult threads but he is becoming a total pain in the ass everywhere else.


I khnow I went with the flow at the start by going extremely over the top with his actions but I have had time to think and if we are clever enough then he will sod off cause he will get no cheap thills out of seeing us angry - NB this doesn't involve using longer, more adult swear words.

If you get annoyed, I recommend a punchbag next to your computer with a face on it - ideally with McKerney written on it./
then hit it very hard, works for me anyway.

Please read and think about it.
