Living almost at capital central now, but there's a place in the middle of nowhere (small village, one shop, no pub even), next to a traintrack, with 100e less rent.

Bro lives there too, so there's that, the train comes to capital in about half an h, i could get a dog, i'd have my own place(no roomie), i have nothing to hold me here and all around would be a fun change.

Only thing is that if i get a job, it would be a longer journey, but then if i get a job i can move back.

Just curious if you guys could come up with negative sides to moving away from the neonlights and into a small village type of thing(no i won't be the only gay man in the village :D)

Half an hour's no biggie, but you might have to get a car...do you really want to get a train everytime you pop into town? You gotta do whats going to make you happier.

There is a slightly larger city like 5-10 mins from the place by train, my bro has a car also.

Also i'm a bit of a hermit so i don't pop to the capiatl that often. Just for parties and pubs :p

And even then, trains roll so it's only a 8e addition to the nights cost.

Yeah the "what makes me happy" is the key here and since a dog would make me happier then my roomie, it might be the better way to go.

Have to see if the place is free still etc etc.

Only half an hour traintrip? If I weren't the city slicker I am, I'd definately move and seeing as you probably wouldn't miss the city really, and are happy to hop over now and then, then I wouldn't think about it for one heartbeat. Move I tell ye, get that place of yer own! :D

Lack of entertainment and cultural offerings. Pubs, cinemas, theatres, bars are all far away, it requires time and money (ticket, fuel) to get there and when you´re there, you either can´t drink a beer or you´re dependent on the time tables of the trains ans busses. Annoying, especially during the winter season.

Supermarkets, groceries etc. are far away, which requires a lot of planning. If you notice that you ran out of coffee, you can´t just grab your jacket and go to the supermarket that´s one block away. Ok, I assume there´s a store somewhere in your village, but I doubt that it´s got the same opening hours and range of goods as the usual supermarket in town.

Limited delivery service! Pizza delivery services usually just don´t deliver to places too far away from their zone.

And of course: Polar bears roaming the streets in the winter, attacking and eating passengers. ;)

Hmm. Have to check that pizza delivery thing.

There might be a pizza place there, not sure. If there is, that's sorted.

Yeah, pubs etc are a bit off, but i'm no stranger to waiting 2h at the city for the trains to roll. Even at winter cold(that's why they invented flasks ;))

The shop that is there stocks enough for my needs(refreshments, beers and food things) and the harder alcohol can be bought in bulk while visiting the closer city thing.

But yeah, it looks like all things considered(except polar bears and eskimos), i think i'll be leaving city lights for now. If i can get that eskimo pwoerup during winter that super mario has, then i'll be sorted :D

Its awesome if you have a car. And you don't live in England where only certain lucky areas get optic fibre.

I much prefer living in a village, 6 miles from work at the mo, and while the weathers nice I'm cycling in (takes about 25 mins), will just use public transport when the weathers crap.

Yep. Village life >>> Town life by a massive amount. If I could just get decent internet speeds it would be perfect.

Well, even if it would be fun and all, it all comes down to the devil known as money :(

Seemingly cheaper apt. but with all counted, i'd be left with less moneyz.
