OK i used to play Alb/Excal with both and Armsman and a Cabby but then went Alb/Glasto, however, i decided i needed a change. Was just wondering considering im starting from scratch, what class would be 'easy' to level and fairly good for farming money. I quite like the look of bds, but dont know how they play, and i'd quite like something like a cabby. Anyway any help/ advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Well first things first , have you rolled on mid before the Cluster ? if not then unfortunatly you cant come onto mid without deleting your alb Chars.
If you are already here then i would say that a Spiritmaster is more akin to a cabba then a BD , lifetap , pet and focosshield <in different specline than lt , but what you going to do ? :p>
Anyhows , you need any advice or some armor give a /t conspiracy-p and ill see what i can do , nothing great , but should have some rog's etc :)
Welcome to midguard !

Welcome to midguard !

Be a gimp like me who refuses to listen and have main acc rolled mid on other side of cluster and buffbot rolled alb :p

Main reason why i cba to exp chars on either ... cba begging buffs and/or buying a 3rd acc for the purpose :(

P.S. I want nice stuff for my Baby zerker Agri ... u have done atleast 2plat worth of damage to my arti weps/armor in duels with my toons against ure valk ...

If I would start from scratch today I would prolly choose SM or skald.

SM is very good in PVE and RVR, and if u have a BB u can solo alot of stuff.

Skald is ok in PVE solo, and have alot of utils that helps group as well.
Having a skald is a must in a rvr group. I used my skald for farming dia seals
in old DF and it worked just fine.

Valks and thanes will get some love in next patch, could be a good idea having
a look at them too after the patch.

Good luck

No, skalds are not a must in a RvR group.

BA BDs are good PvE farmers, even unbuffed, but not really PvP chars. I have the impression that supp BD = Solo PvP. Anyone ever tried dark BD outside thid btw?
My advice is to go SM if u got BB (summspec for solo PvE farming, suppspec for modernagrav PBAE-groups etc and darkspec for PvP).. Warlocks are good for PvE and as op as any other LT class in PvP (but unlike the other LT classes its getting nerfed next patch).
For the record: I dont have BB, so I made myself a shammy main.

Btw, I did have a lv 47 Dark/supp BD in of for a short period.
Dark/supp BD = Nuker pets (insta debuf combat speed and then nukes), debuf pets (insta interrupting AE snare, casts disease and then engages melee), weak healerpets (like 60-100 HP pr heal), insta interrupting -50 body debuf (8 sec cooldown), insta weak bodydmg lifetap, 179 DD 3 sec cast snare. In other words; any assassin will eat you up, but you will eat any caster that doesnt manage to AE mez your pets before they fan out.
I respecced BA for farmage due to the silly high amount of infils and NS back then.. LT classes that got so good castingspeed they can cast their LT while taking dmg is a pain too.

The thing you want on cluster is a charr that can solo in PvE (since there aint any groups around) as said before:

Spiritmaster : Good
Skald: Good
Healer: Bad (they are wanted yea, but there aint anny groups to play in..before lvl 50)
Shaman: same as above
Warlock: good, but getting nerfed
Warrior: good with a bot
Thane/Valkyrie/Savage: same as above
Zerker: good
Runemaster: as long as you aint sup spec: Good
Bonedancer: Good, maybe not the fastest..but not so mutch downtime
Hunter/Shadowblade: Working with a bot.

oh and its spelled MIDGARD DAMIT! every wannabie still says Midguard :(

If tank skald is an ok choice, warrior / thane / zerk as well, wouldnt go savage tbh as it is painful to exp w/o a bb

Go for the class you want to play. Both the Bonedancer and the spiritmaster are excellent classes, in both RvR and PvE.

The spiritmaster is probably the easiest class to level up. The bonedancer doesn't have much trouble but you will find you are always running out of power, while leveling.

In RvR the bd and the spiritmaster can both solo very well, although with the new changes to stealthers it might be a bit harder to play a caster solo. In group RvR they play slightly different roles the Bd can interupt half the enemy group if he is good while a dark spiritmaster will be trying to deal damage. The spiritmaster can also go suppresion for pbaoe which can be fun in certain RvR situations.

For farming cash both classes can have ML9 pets. The spiritmaster can spec summ for the focus shield and with a buffer you can farm some really big mobs. The bd can't achieve quite that much but can comfortably solo reds/low purps. A supp specced spiritmaster with pbaoe can also farm cash well be it scrolls/darkspire/moderna.

Either one is excellent, pick the one you want!

Plzzz ... think b4 u say anything like that ever again Oo last months playing a Bd and all i can conclude is that a supp BD is a major plus in a fgrp rvr grp -- just think about it -- BANELORD !!!!! INSTA LIFE TAP --insta dex + str debuff-- PETS THAT CAN INTERUPT and last but not least TWF --- all u have to do now is pick the right targets -- make a decent template -- and tbh if u dont join a fgrp -- SOLO = i promise u ..it will make u more rp's ...and speccing anything else than supp strictly contradicts the overwhelming whinning of our enemies about BD's and their insta LT's... when it comes to PvE ... even unbuffed u have no problem chainning yellow/oj's ... if ur buffed all u have to worry about is having endless power :m00:

Was rather Oldschool philosophy; Back when I played actively (1,5
/ 2 years ago) supp BDs where for some reason never in FGs. Aint dark/supp better for interrupts anyway?
