i just thought this might help to remove the fear of grouping with people you don't really know, and the # of thief posts. there's a few artifacts that seem to fall outside the group loot table though, so when doing danos i.e. spam next item and get item.

BATTLEGROUPS

We've added the ability for battle groups to have a “Treasurer”. This system works similar to Group autosplit – If the treasurer is within 4096 units (in game terms, which is approximately 340 feet in real world terms) of loot which is picked up by a battle group member the loot will go to the treasurer as long as he has room for it and the item is at least the level set with the bg lootlevel command. (see below). This should facilitate distribution of loot in large raids.

- /bg loot treasurer/normal command will toggle the Treasurer feature on or off.

- /bg treasurer [battle group member name] to declare a treasurer.

- /bg lootlevel [level] to set a threshold for the level an item must be to enter into this sytem.

remember that if someone joins the bg after you've made someone a treasurer you have to make the settings again. better safe then sorry.

make sure the most trustworthy person in the group is the treasurer!

Nothing in that post that isnt well known by the vast majority of folks that will read it.

The point is that its the 'rarer' artifacts that tend to not go to the treasurer (GoV, SoM, Cloudsong, Healers Embrace, Scalars, etc etc), its these that every 'whine thread' so far has been talking about.

GOAs policy seems to be very clear - if you invite someone to a battlegroup for these encounters theyre entitled to the artifact. So if you cant trust them, dont invite them.

Mythic couldnt have designed this system to generate more problems if they tried

I think the policy is:

if someone invited on a raid steals an item it's a community thing

if someone not invited on the raid steals the item due to some lovely coding by Mythic it's a griefing thing that GOA will do something about.
