The thane might just've been out for some duels against other people wearing /level armour, he might've wanted a fair fight. You decided not to give him that fair fight, so in a way this could be considered as destroying the game for him.
I, personally, don't attack anyone who doesn't want to fight me. This means that I am not destroying the game for anyone, whatever you claim. I let others enjoy the game in the way they want to, they just shouldn't expect me to enjoy it in the same way.

As I said before, read me posts. The rogs that I am using have random generated stats, so I can't fit them in a template because..

yet another example of you not reading my posts, I don't whine that i loose, idiot, i whine about people who use the SCs or high rrs, i have beaten many sc'ed and high rr'ed chars, and I loose alot aswell, but I don't moan about loosing, my usually deaths at the end of the day is 10-20

yes, it was my choice, but what I said above I do not whine about loosing to SCed players I whine about SCed and high RRed players in thid so I'd suggest getting your facts right, mister, as I've said above I win most duels against sced characters with the help of DT ofc (here comes frenzy inc to flame me about using DT) and lol, if I was destroying the game for him, then he should grow up. in mmorpgs, its not carebear land, you'll meet alot of dickheads who want to make your life hell, I guess you have to duel with that

Chars should all have same HP, random resists and cast/swing times.

It did take quite a while to write indeed, thanks for your interest. It took so long because I tried my best to write clear and understandable, so my points would surely come over. I also paid quite a bit of attention to the language used in order to avoid confusion. I don't mind spending some time on a post though, I actually enjoy having a debate and I like writing this kind of posts .

You said you wouldn't moan about anyone with better rogs. I replied to this with the statement that spellcraft is basically the same as lucky rogs which all fit. I repeat: if someone (not you, just someone) would have everything capped with rogs, you wouldn't complain as you already stated. Why do you complain about someone achieving the same with spellcraft? I guess I was a bit unclear as to who these rogs belonged to though, hope I fixed that now .

Well, ok. You manage to beat sc'ed players, that means they offer a good fight doesn't it? One would think this is a good thing: a fair fight instead of just some dummy who goes down in three shots. If you don't like this and prefer making quick kills without resistance, may I suggest the grey-cons outside Cotswold? I'm sure they won't mind cooperating and that way other people can enjoy the game without being obliterated without standing a chance.

I do indeed wear glasses, how did you know? Well, actually, I should wear them, but I lost them . Bloody expensive these things are, so don't know if I'll buy new ones. Wearing glasses or not does not influence my abbility to read however, I can still read your posts fairly well. You did say you were insulting people, because you had a hard time irl, didn't you? The word "so" expresses a consequence, which means that the insulting is a consequence of the hard time you're having. I only said that you shouldn't vent your frustrations on others.

Ok, you do not whine about getting killed by players with better equipment, you do not whine about losing a fight. What exactly is your problem then? You should not however voice an opnion which is insulting to other people without backing it up with at least some arguments. You are talking to people, not to a monitor, not to some script auto-replying. Show some respect at least.

To Job: your option is a fair one, although it would be rather dull in my opinion :> (IMG cap). I quite like the current situation: I pick out the fights which seems fair (both sides +- equal chance to win) and fight those. It effectively boils down to the same thing (50 win/50 lose), but somehow it appears more enjoyable. Can't explain why, it just does. i guess subconsiously I still think I have some effect on this result, even though I know that effect is minimal.

my bad on that one, I meant having an SC as in having alot of things capped and items fitted together - I meant it in the term 'to have an SC' that people sometimes say, but don't always have SCed armour. if you get what I mean :<

I enjoy those fights against SCed players, yes, but I think its a waste of money, all having an SC and high RR does _imo_ is put a bad name as some instantly think 'unskilled player, can't compete properly'

I also understand why you think they are sad now, let me try to explain why I think they aren't;
- They spend money on a bg : True, but it's only about 200-1000 gold. That's not even 1% of what a decent level 50 template costs.
- They cry whenever they die: That's another matter, they don't cry because they have spellcraft. I have, personally, never cried because I died, nor have I seen any of the more known Thidranki players do so.
- They are arrogant people : That is not directly related to the spellcraft either. I don't think I'm being arrogant, nor do i think any of the other regular Thidranki players is. I have talked to most in-game as well, their forum-attitude might sometimes be misinterpretted, but they're generally nice chaps.

On to the skill subject then. They might be less skilled, but so what. I think being a bad player doesn't make you a sad person. I also think that it's a good thing that players who can't win on 'even' ground get an advantage. It makes fights closer and thus, in my opinion, more fun.

I think the skill factor is only minimal anyway, but Garbannoch already explained that earlier. Suffice to say that it all boils down to class, spec and equipment. It might take a few sessions to figure out when to use which ability, but in 1on1 you just have to fire all damaging abbilities as soon as possible. Not really hard to figure out. In group RvR the use of the right skill at the right time is probably more important, but there the individual player ('s equipment) matters less anyway, so better sc/RR is even less of an advantage than in 1on1.

Edit for the points where I actually agree:
- Crying and flaming for being killed could indeed be considered as 'sad'. I wouldn't label it as sad, because I'm reluctant to use words like this. I would just want to say that it doesn't help and isn't a correct way to treat a fellow player either. Especially considering killing others is the goal of this game .
- An arrogant attitude is, in my opinion, a wrong attitude as well. I think you should treat everyone with the respect. Treating someone without respect because he plays the game in a different way or because he isn't as skilled in a game as you are, is even worse. It is only a game.

I have no choice but to agree, I guess I should think into more depth before I make my posts, yes, 200-1000gold may not be much, but nowadays you can buy some decent items with that kinda money (cyclone bracer, ebon hide)

I guess I base the 'crying' on my own experience as I had someone pm me from another realm, starting to flame me on how I used dt (won't name names ) though I shouldn't be so steriotypical sometimes, but thats what I believe, and no ones gonna change my mind on that,

though in the end I guess the games all about fun, and if that means getting to RR2, being sced and bb or what have you, then thats what should be done
