Goodbye mate, long time since we did have a talk. A thread like this sure brings up memories. Axiom Knights that was the best daoc time. Hope to see you around mate. Will miss you, but by the looks of this thread it seems more like a see you soon in WoW, with all the oldies looking for a fresh new start. Would be nice to be on same server.

Hey van, havent posted here or been on the server for a long time but still think it best to say goodbye to a good friend from my old days, im sure you'll be a big loss to hib. Like you say axiom knights was an awesome guild and since ive long since moved on i still take time to think about the great times we had in that guild. Had some great fun with you too dude, omg i was about to say i still have the chatlog of me you emer fair and valerunner grouping in mt. collory when we were in our 20's but i cant believe i was so foolish to have deleted it Grrrr i cant believe that, oh well we had some great fun levelling up and some great fun in guild at our higher levels, was always fun with you dude and you'll be missed.
I hope to see all you guys in WoW IF i ever get round to trying it and i prolly will try it eventually, cya later Dude.

OMG better warn the peeps on WOW to turn thier filth filters on!
GL in WOW Van, might see you there, you always livened hib up with your sense of humour. and the odd comment or 10 reminding most peeps not to take the game to seriously and it was all about fun.

I remember when i first met, you and Calere (mezz), and afew others and we went to white boars in frontier to kill.. that was funny as hell.. some great times wasted for many other players cos of fins.

basically, i lent you 150P about a year ago and haven't had it back yet so don't you even think about leaving until i get it!!! i may have left too, but that is no excuse!!! i could sell them on ebay or something.
van is THE dude. i played DAoC since retail release and first character i rolled was unseelie court (before i even knew they had the unseelie court in the game). got to level 14 pretty quick then couldn't get any further. i was a noob, spread all my points across all lines anyway, buggered off to mid/pry for 2 years or so and learnt just a little about the game. came back to hib/exc and met this smelly little luri in df - stinkling or something. he was a few levels below me and i was feeling generous so grouped with the smelly little bastard. anyway, we managed 2 pulls before being ganked by some mids. stinkling took me to his home and gave me lots of stuff. or rather, he ported there and i spent 1 hour trying to find it while he waited. to make matters worse i was helping someone with a trade at DL and forgot i had a portal neckie on and disappeared. so i had to go back there to finish it off i think. and still the luri waited. i got loads of new gear, brought into a decent guild with a good group of people and stinklings friend, jullius, buffed me and just sat around for a couple days while i levelled. i'm forever debted to steph (and julz) for helping me get the first char i rolled to 50, meant a lot to me. they don't know this, but i had a couple 50s on mid. so, i may have played a little dumb sometimes - if you were ever wondering how someone who had played since retail release could be so dumb, now you know why another story you don't know regarding the druim gerlach staff (think that is the name). you gave it to me and i used it but got myself another staff. i was feeling sorry for some portuguese guy i met in CM and gave it to him. after that you kept asking me why i didn't use it anymore and i said i must have left it in my vault and next time i went there i would get it. anyway, as luck would have it, i was in a diamond seal farming group with you AND the portuguese guy. while you were asking me about the staff i was frantically pm'img him trying to get the name of the staff, which wasn't easy as the guy playing was only a friend of the guy i gave it to. armed with the name, i went to a market explorer and lo and behold, there was one on a CM. i felt so bad about giving the staff away i bought the same one back for 450G and used it whenever you were around. until you told me it was shite and said i should give it to a lower level person in BoH
you know about the messy BoH thing that happened and when you left i left too. to be honest, it wasn't BoH for me. it was GoS (guild of steph). i dunno how, but i felt a loyalty to you (and julz) that i have never felt in a mmorpg. my biggest regret is that i never got to pay you back for all the things you did for me. i'm going WoW, and i'm be honoured to be on the same server as you. i don't even care if we group or speak that often, it would just be nice to come across one of your toons once in a while and have a bitch slap contest. i'm relishing the opportunity to meet a whole new bunch of people on WoW, and with so many servers being online the community aspect on each will be greater, i believe. but i'd like to see some familiar faces, too. even if just to explain to you one last time why elfs are a far superior race to luris (seriously, how do luris ever get served at a bar? possibly by jumping? they do jump high).

Wow Van. I decided to see if my old account was still available at xmas as I was suffering from nostalgia. And guess what? Alot of the good times I remember involved Axiom Knights, but most of the great times involved you m8 :worthy:
Best time prior to AK involved you and myself killing that red con stealther together when he jumped poor Fair. Was my first PvP kill and gloated about it for weeks...happy times.
Also loved doing the epic quest runs and stopping up til way too late on work nights to screams of "don't hit the horse" etc. And RvR was...well...hectic. Fond memories of us taking out a group invaders whilst the rest of the group was mezzed...I swear having a firby backpack was a good tactic
And best best times was certainly chatting on officer channel in AK with you and HD...great times
Anyhow, I come to find out if you're back from Hawaii yet to discover that you've left DAoC Don't think I'll bother renewing my account then in that case.
Currently I'm residing in the game Eve Online but been throwing furtive glances at this WoW I've heard so much about...think I might just come have a looksie myself.
