45 air, 25 ice, 16 earth. why people would want to spec 47 air while you get nothing in 46 and 47 spec is totally beyond me :p

47 for slightly more damage since you get absolutely nothing usefull at 16 earth. Unless you ofc like to use the 9% melee debuff instead of 7% or the lvl25 earthies instead of lvl15 earthies. That said im 45 air since in groups I can throw the odd bt or two to support.

Agreed with the 45 air, earth pets are MUCH more useful than ~1% extra nuke damage.

However I'd say the slightly different spec of 45/21/21, I was the 45/25/16 spec initially but much prefer this one over it. reason? The earth pets from the level 12 spell move at walk speed so can be kited, the ones from the level 20 spell move at around speed 3, so cannot.

46w, 25i, 13e i found the best.

Reason being i wanted the ASD to be low level, means that can try and use it as an insta interupt if possible. Think it about a 5% chance more of it being resisted at this spec then getting the level 16 one thus more useful being lower level.

And the reason that dont go 21ice, 21earth is that in testing the 25ice pet interupts all the time whereas the one below only interupts about 40% the time. Sure you can get lucky streaks where it is more but then you get times it dont interupt at all :(

Besides, level 12 earth pets should be used in conjuction with other pets, so if the ice pet is snaring them then they cant run out of EP range etc. I try (but dont always succeed) on trying to get a couple of each type on the support, means they snare, stunned and got a 1minute pet on them :D And most dont try to kill the earth pets even at that level (hell even used lvl 1 EP's for a laugh and they didnt kill them at times :p )

my spec is 35 earth 25 ice 32 wind, it rox's unfortunatly i dont play alb these days :p

gives a melee pet that interupts & has enough hp so it cant be 1 hitted in melee (the lvl 21 earth pet only lasts 30 sec, this one last 60 sec)
gives 2nd pbt, (this is realy nice, often underestimated though)
gives the 2nd best icepet (roughly 10% less damage per pet nuke) & gives the best wind pet...
downside is that you dont have a kickass spirit nuke, but tbh i never nuke with a interupt class...

i agree, 45a 25a 16e is good for solo but 45a 21i 21e is the nutz for grp rvr and still pretty good for solo

It's beyond me as well. Serves me right for replying without checking when you got the last nuke.. For some reason I thought it was 47.

common sense -> :twak: <- me

solo spec is 45/25/16.

the difference between 45 wind and 47 is about a 0.8% (random percent I made up) difference in the damage. NOT really worth it imo.

aye, theurgs got the unlimited ammount of pets to be able to interrupt everyone so that other casters can nuke, they were stupid so give them a spec nuke imo.. many theurgs spec wind.. ok, its good solo, but in grp.. you want pbt, earth pets, and ice pets can nuke.. + if you spec ice, you get more dmg with base ice nuke.. so for alot of grping, go earth/ice
sorcs mezz, cabbys/sorcs nukes, theurgs interrupt everything
for RAs, i would go rp1, moc1, maybe mcl1, aug dex3 or 4, purge2 :>

you give up nearly nothing to get a proper spec dd in wind, so why not? some extra dps is always nice, just coordinate it well.

'Air spec' is a bit misleading, some people assume just because you have low earth and ice its crap for groups, but the 45/21/21 version is very nearly as good as the 41ice/35 earth spec for FGs and vastly better for small groups or solo. All level earth and ice pets can be 1 shot by casters, the only diff is that low level earth pets can be meleed down more easily, this isn't often relavent. Ice pet damage output is only fractionally for the high level pets, as tests have shown, and all levels manage to interrupt and snare equally well. High level earth pets do a bit more damage than low level ones but their damage output is not significant compared to casters or tanks anyway, higher level earth pets do move faster, but everything from the level 20 (spell) ones upwards move faster than sprint so cannot be kited, this is all that matters.

The only real advantage of high ice is a longer AOE root duration. Basically for pure 8v8 ice/earth is slightly better but for a mixed playstyle 'airspec' is definately the way to go.

agree if the grp already has a mind sorc + body sorc then 45/21/21 is best spec. with no body sorc i think its more important to have a strong ae root in grp than an interrupt class who spends his time nuking.

Not really so in my opinion. Better of using single target roots no matter what duo to the duration, and it not often that you got to root more then 2 people in the current run out (talking about fg not zerg). This is unless you go full ice which is a waste.

even the level 1 earthpet interupts all the time because it is a melee pet. When it comes to earth pets the only thing that really changes is the speed. The higher ones are nice but you lose alot with going for it and gain nothing else except better pet.

Quick look at earth line.

Very good pets, interupt every swing no matter level. Only change is that they slightly harder to melee down at higher levels and move faster. All can basically be killed in a maximum of 2 aoe's or 1 pbaoe. In general a support class will not melee down a pet so doesnt matter if it level 12 or 48 pet in that respect. Higher ones do more damage but that isnt what pets are really for anyways. Mix a couple of ice pets and it doesnt matter if they one shot the earth pets, they would used their qc and the ice pets still interupt

ASD - Pointless, do you really want to help the enemy frontload damage? Hard enough for healing as is. Also having a low level = more chance of resist = can be used to attempt as an insta interupt (only interupts on resist)

PBT - In all honesty is pointless. Eats up power and to be quite honest you should not be in range of the person that is being attacked, instead you should be using your longer range to good affect.

Ice line:

Pets: Low level pets aren't a definate interupt. Takes 3 level 18 pets to be sure to get the consta interupt. Level 25 ice pets will interupt constantly due to being 88% of caster level (same as any pet class summoned pet). Going above level 25 ice pet brings no benefit except a 5-6% dmg increase. Hardly worth it.

AoE root - Less effective then single target root unless you spec to 49ice. Not often you need AoE because most time you face just 2 tanks in fg vs fg. Easy enough to root them seperately and takes about 1second longer to do it. Only way tank should be on you really is if they charged or cc immune at the time else you can root them as they run at you, and if one does make it you just qc the root on that one.

Dmg/snare - Well if you spec this line you do it for the root, that means the snare componant of this nuke is wasted. Root immunity = snare immunity. So you got at most a 179DD with basically the same power cost and dmg as the baseline ice DD. So all in all you gained nothing.

Wind line

Air pet - Good pet that isnt easily killed in melee. Shortest pet timer yes but you use it in conjunction with other pets. Is very nice to chain stun tanks on your support so they can get clear, used in conjunction with other pets you can prevent insta heals/moc casting. Does not set stun immunity. Interupts every swing. Weak damage but pets not there for damage.

AoE mezz - Good emergency backup mezz for the sorc if only run 1 and they get insta mezzed. Can be used in emergancy to aoe interupt and not set immunity to your snare pets. Holds for more then enough time on pets to get clear and nuke them down before going back to interupt.

Air nuke - 209DD with a low power cost, works on a highly neglected resist so very good additional DPS to a group. Just because you got it doesnt mean you HAVE to use it in a fight, but if your group needs to kill a target quickly then it is very good to have. Will rarely face 50% resists like do with ice nukes and the addition base dmg adds up.

...........

So basically when you look at it the wind line brings you the most useful abilities. Earth line brings just the pets, ice brings the pet and aoe root, ice brings the backup mezz and the pets and the very good nuke.

But that is just my view of it. I rather the more utility then the slightly faster earth pets that make me give up alot, and a crappy aoe root i will very rarely use.
