After installing the patch on wednesday, I got this first view of the Launcher so I guess evrything was downloaded ok. Now I am not a very technical person ;) so I'll explain as good as possible:
I have 'quick entry buttons' on my desktop and 1 of them is for WoW (it has this small little white arrow leftbottom) it works as intended...
Yesterday (after I closed that Launcher-page) I went looking for the new button, found it in /c..program files...etc.. it says: WoW Launcher(same look as the other but no white arrow bottomleft)
Now the problem is: when I doubleclick it, I don't get into the game, I get a 'Scan.dll' thingy on my desktop and nothing else :( no game starts up, no Launcher appears...
Is my Launcher thingy broken?
Did I do that?

you don't need the WoW Launcher ... just double click on wow.exe and enjoy the game

That's what I've been doing :) I'm just curious what this Launcher looks like and where I can get it ...

Try running WoW from:- Start -> programs -> World of Warcraft -> World of Warcraft, (assuming you're running Windows) works for me

If you look in the WoW dir, there's an additional exe called 'Launcher'. That should open it up. It's not that impressive really, just an additional window to click through :p
