oh man this film is so boring. i watched the first 30 minutes
and there was no clue what these monsters are, why they hate the colour red etc.
kept watching...

oh my god there is a wedding!!
thats about as relevant as a cheese toastie.

so another 15 minutes was all about that. still none the wiser about anything i just stopped watching :(

One of my American friends mentioned that he had seen this film and, as my friends always seem to do, he mentioned the "twist". Not one of the Director's best films by all accounts. A lot of the people on VN boards slated him for "Signs" but I quite liked that myself... but this really does sound like one to miss, sadly.

M-m-m-MEGA SPOILER!

Tris - you didn't miss much, it's a pretty shite film. The mosters were made up by the elders to keep people from leaving the village. Turns out it's all set in modern times but the elders moved to this nature reserve thing (that one of the elders bought cos he's loaded) because they all had lost someone to violence. They decided to move back to a simpler time - none of the younger generation has any clue.

I've enjoyed every one of his films, and am certainly looking forward to this.

The problem with his films these days is everyone is just looking for what the twist might be, if you go to see it you can bet £50 that when you're leaving some tard will be talking about how they worked out the twist before they even saw the film, be sure to jump up and down on their head if this does happen to you.

Saw this last night. And I have to agree it was very average. A couple of tense moments like the "holding out the hand" scene and the bit in the forest but overall quite a dull film that did try to be quite clever but not in a very interesting way.

I guessed the twist three days ago.

Fuck sake - I got the twist in 6th Sense 3 months before it was released.

It just didn't make any sense!

Why didn't they just have medical supplies in the Village? If they wanted to make a utopia, they could have combined technology and science with the innocence of yesteryear, instead of all the 1800's dress/talk/bollocks. The kids were born into the Village, so they wouldn't know. And why did they make up the shite about the colour red?

Crap and not scary.

I was under the impression that they did keep medical supplies but ran out.

Saw this the other night. Although it wasn't the film I was expecting I was happy with how it turned out and left feeling good.

Not his best film and probably not one I'd rush to buy, but I enjoyed it none the less.

Did watch this in the end, mostly because my date wanted to see it. Even knowing the "twist" it was, actually, okay. Not great, but watchable.

The actress who played the blind girl was astonishingly good, hope to see her career take off! Can she really be 'Richie Cunningham's' daughter? *feels so old*

watched it and it is shite

The filming was relitively good but the storyline etc really was pants. I don't get the red thing either :(

This movie sucks. It's so bad, if i knew, I would have payed the cinema fee NOT to see it. I have seen lots of bad movies, but this is the all time biggest suck of all. If you must see it, download it from the net. Dont let that wanker M. Night SMD make money off this crap...

Summery: slow, boring, pointless - waste of film. :puke:

I sort of enjoyed the film ... but I have 1 question ...
If the elders were the founders of the village and the only ones to know the truth about the outside world ... then where the fuck did everyone else come from? They can't all be related?
... ideas anyone?
