I watched this again last night - I think this is the best television drama the UK's ever made. Anyone that missed it on ITV really should check it out on DVD, though depending on where you're coming at it from it could be extremely upsetting. As an agnostic it makes me seriously freak out.
Basically, if you've never heard of it, Christopher Eccleston plays a thoroughly normal northern bloke, who one day realises he's the son of God. From there it gets incredibly serious, very dark, and as far as is possible, extremely realistic - this is exactly how the world would react if this was to happen today.
Add that to some stunning performances and very powerful dialogue and you have a wonderfully provocative and possibly quite distressing couple of hours, and it's guaranteed to make you think.
Plus, we don't even sell it so you know I'm recommending you watch because I know you'd enjoy, rather than trying to make a sale!
