There are some good bits, but its all a bit sentimental. I always liked the shots with the guy running down the corridor with important news.
Its a bit too 'American Hero' and not enough 'German Scientist'

Never actually got round to seeing it which is suprising as I've always been a follower of what NASA is upto.

I finally watched all of it last night after many failed attempts to watch it on TCM during it's many re-runs.
I enjoyed it, Especially when Yeager get's basically into space, ejects and turns up alive, but slightly crispy.
Top cast as well, although I'm sure Lance Hendrikson didn't have any lines at all, desipte being one of the 7.
