The Retail version of CS, what you get.

1. Shiney box with pictures splattered all over it. Funny enough the CS pictures are of the old models.

2. 1 Disk, 1 CD Key (again), 1 Manual.

3. CounterStrike. For some reason even after tweaking it seems to be crashing a lot when the level change. Beyond the other camp stuff they added in v1.0 there are no other problems.

4. Wanted. WildWest TC which I didn't like at all. Also in order to play the bot I had to start a multiplayer game which put me on the server lists and I had people ruining my game

5. TFC. I have yet to play it. Probably the same. (TFC=Pants )

6. Opposing Forces Multiplayer. I have yet to play it. Probably the same.

7. Redemption. Single player game. The intro is very nicely done. Freeman has to help the baddies this time.

8. Ricochet. I have to say of the all of thim I enjoyed this one probably the most. It's a tron disc game which is extremly fast paced and great fun (especially decapitating people )

Think that's it. Oh wait and Firearms.

Ok for newbies i suppose...

It will end up in a lot of peoples stockings for xmas...
Which means an influx of Sir Knumbskulls, argh.

I think TKpunish* should let you off if the person you TK is called Sir Knumbskull....


*TKpunish - a system whereby if you kill a teammate during a round, the next round you are killed automatically, as a punishment.

Newbies may not be a problem.

The game is different then the HL I was using to run CS, so much so that there seems to be a memory leak in the menu system and switching back and forwards through the menus too often causes the machine to hang.

Coming close to uninstalling and just downloading the one off the net again.

No...if you download the *upgrade* patches...new players are called Sir_Knumskull until they change it.

If you download the *entire* CS upgrade in one patch (the full version) new players are called "Disabled"...

I should imagine that the retail version is a single upgrade CS file, and hence, "Disabled"

making fun of handicapped people isn't very "PC" is it.

I bet if I suggested unnamed players be called "Jew" people would get well upset.

I'm glad someone pointed that one out. I *was* thinking that this 'Sir_Knumskull' was playing an awful lot of cs but must be pretty bad as I kept managing to frag him.

As for 'Disabled', I just thought that there were an awful lot of sickos playing cs and never even gave it a second thought...



Actually that last sentence is probably partly true
