I know they seem to be on a roll of making Marvel hero's etc into films but do we really need a remake of this film, the original was only made in 1989.

Looks like it's going to be total shit. All the interviews I've read so far suggest that the director/scriptwriter have totally missed the point of The Punisher.

I quite enjoyed the first one, some how I doubt I'll be rushing to watch this when it comes out.

Its directed by the guy who did The Hulk (and the guy who is going to do the fantastic four :S).

Lundgren was crap. The Punisher is just supposed to be a normal guy, ex-marine/whatever but not a meathead. He's pretty much devoid of emotion/morals due to what has happened, and not really any better than those who are punished. Oh, and he's supposed to be a wop.

Andy Garcia could probably pull it off.

Sounds a little like Soldier with Kurt Russell - he wasnt too bad in that
