Well, seems what we all have known for a long time you guys have been using, have now been found out how you do it...

Ever wondered how walker lags out of view whenever you start hitting him, or how you can never land a slam on Pbuck?

Well some hibs (who prefer to stay anonymous (though they have reported this to GOA and Kemor)) found out today how they use the damned famous "lag hack" and always lag on purpose, even though so many albs claim they just have laggy connections, we all know this isn't true.

So how does it work you ask yourself... we'll I've seen this displayed to me and it works exactly like what always happens when you target Walker or Pbuck, you start running after the character and 5 sec later he disapears and stands exactly where he stood as you begun to attack him. This is the chat log copy/pasted with erasing of names I took today, when I was explained how it works:

So explained in a language anyone can understand (never used daox myself)

When you use daox you get a windowed mode on daoc (much like IE or similar) to use this "lag hack" you run forward like normally then you hold the bar up in the top (the tools bar where you minize close and so on IE and similar) you hold this for X number of seconds and when you release it you stand exactly where you stood before you pressed the bar, and any tanks and other stuff get the famous "Your target is out of view" message.

(any tanks recognise this when fighting Pbuck Walker and so on?) I'm sure almost any tank that does RvR does this.

This is the lowest ever, I hope even albs can reason with hibs/mids and see why this is utter crap, totally lame, and leaves us tanks with 0 respect for abusing fuckers like these mages.

I remember times I stated that you guys were the best alb RvR'ers out there (or at least some of the best) I now take this back and say you are the lamest players ever to play daoc!

Now you'r no longer the only ones that know how it works Walker Pbuck and stupid other alb fucker mages. This is SO LAME!

and I seriously hope GOA decide to take some action against this!

Flame me everything you want, but go in game and check it out, it's EXCALTY what walker Pbuck and others have used for ages, so low!

Edlina Evermourn, experienced tank and mage killer imo.

even if it was, how can you prove they are doing anything? because someone comes and posts some lines of a texts that is apparently a chat log?

Uhm, you don't need to have daox to do this tho, it's also possible when you are playing full screen...:(

I never said I could, I think most any tank ever tried to hit the mentioned casters will agree with me though!

And it does work, I tried af'ing someone with daox he did it, and it did exactly what always happen when you attack one of those mages.

Test it yourself.

I just sign under what others have said. If that is true I hope they get banned. If you meet anyone that you think is using this tactic, report them to RightNow and include a link to this thread so they will know exactly what you mean. Then we can just hope that Goa will investigate and take action.

If they were abusing any 'lag tricks' I'd say ban them also. However, being the only real healer in Walker's group the majority of the time, I think that I'd know if he was abusing any lag hacks. and shock! He gets targetted and hit just as much as anyone else, probably more infact, cos he's just mezzed everyone :) Sooooooooooo, really, take your completely unsubstantiated accusations of abuse, and cry me a river :)

Lame bastards, anyone using this tactic must be a real sad case to resort to that. Nice one for explaining how it works, unfortunately I fear you will have a hard time gathering proof of someone using the hack.

Even if u could prove it what will be done?

Ill tell u what, NOTHING.

Half the game use daox etc and GOA know they do as well as MYTHIC yet they do nothing, they wont attack there income for stupid things, if they did ban for that then half the players (in all realms) would disapear.

It comes back to the whole issue of pride and respect doesn't it? How can players who use tricks like this have any pride and deserve any respect?

I die a lot in this game and when I die in a well fought battle I don't care as I have a lot of respect for many of my adverseraries. But when I come up against players who are clearly cheating in order to win at all costs, I lose all respect for them.

I've played this game a long time now. I know when things aren't right and when I see lag warping players, mages who manage to cast while moving, mezzed targets who can't be hit and full groups who seem to find you repeatedly in unusual locations as if they have a homing system, it makes me very angry. Angry because it spoils the game for the rest of us who do play by the rules and don't abuse bugs.

I don't care if they do it in DaoX or have found a way to do it in full screen mode. It is lame and it is pathetic. Yes, "it's only a game" but so are football and cricket and you wouldn't want to play against a team who were constantly handballing or picking the seam when the ref/umpire wasn't looking, would you? If you are using tricks, either completely against the CoC like DaoX or taking advantage of a bug, you are a cheat and even if GOA don't take action, your peers should, for the sake of the game.

Not having a bitch at Walker here but its happened to me against walker a few times. Maybe he has a laggy internet con then he should change isp's. Surely you must have thought something is wrong when quite a few people have seen you, gone to hit you then get the target is out of range. Or maybe seeing tanks run away from you instead of at you then stop and look around. And also your name seems to come up alot in these threads. ISP change maybe.

he has had a red connection most of today (i can say he lives up to his inguild nickname of "Warper").

He does lag, we all know it, im sure mids have/hibs have seen him lag though the MG's and think EASY KILLS and find its a lag ghost.

there was a few months back when all BBB users had lots of packet loss(ask any swes with BBB, thats was when i got all the lag whine to) all the time but they fixed it so i rarly get it anymore and if i do i stay away from fights couse trying to mez when lagging is kinad impossible

Coren thanks, wasn't me that did the work though, I just post on BW since the others didn't have the guts :p

Anyone who has ever stuck to walker (attacking) (at least back in the days) or Pbuck in the last 3 months, will probably have seen this, and if you try and stick to someone using it (from your own realm) you'll see what happens is exactly what happens when you attack those casters.

You might and might not use it anymore Walker, you might never have used it, but you sure have great luck with that kind of lag then, I'm sure any tank would agree tbh.

Tucke, tbh I posted it so everyone could see how it was done, if everyone now goes out and ruins the game, it's not really my fault. It's not fair for some people to use this and others not.

The "warping" comes from strafing when you're stunned rooted or mezzed.

OR (my point of view): You run forward with autorun then quickly /face someone = your client still sends the server that you're still running forward? and warps you abit? like the stun/mez/root thing.

afaik, there is no "hack". Too bad, almost everyone I've met uses the warping bug -_-. mythic blows.

EXACTLY

This is THE way to lag forward, it doesn't happen every time, but it does work.

And especially Walker/Pbuck are accused of this, because they lead groups usually (= autorun) and stop to cast using /face (= chance to lag forward)

If you think people do it in any other way, you're totally WRONG.

Edlina: ROFLMAO, you are really sad of losing to them aren't you? So now that you can't beat them in-gme you try to beat them with reputation on a forum?
