The name Teal

hey guys, before you read this is the biggest longshot i have ever made., if you wanna flame me just tell me how I shall respond and I will try the best I can.

Here goes:

I am making a new char, my last one, and I want him to have the name Teal since its my irc nick and I have used it for a long while when playing qw-q3.
It was taken. Tough luck, I thought "what the hell there is nothing to do about it but smile". I took the chance of checking lvl/realm on the guy and finds out it is a lvl 5 Inactive Druid in hibbieland in the guild "Dragon Knights". This makes me atleast hink I got a chance of asking the guy to let me have that name. To remake a char to lvl 5 isnt to hard, but if you dont want to there is nothing i can do.

So if anyone got friends or in the guild, or in its alliance "Gods of Hibernia" and could do me the favour of asking if he is really attached to the name or if I may ask him to delete his lvl 5 inactive druid so I can finish my last char to 50 and go to do some RvR.

If you (teals main or if teal is you main) read this and gets upset for me asking for this, I am sorry but I love that name and I would like one of my chars to have it.

I am aviable on irc with the name teal or teal\stringbrud in daoc.prydwen if you got any information or just wanna spam me for this post you know where to find me.

Sorry for posting this but I care about the name.

I don't know him, but if Teal is a name from a book, movie or something, it's normal that other people take it.

Its also (almost atleast) the name of a char in Stargate TV series (he's name was Teal'C).

so in the end its an extraterrestial (sp?) duck with a pink-like colour :p

Teal is green/blue, not pink, unless you have very bad eyes or are colour blind in which case I won't make fun of it as it wouldn't be nice :)

Cornell... i actually got quite bad eyesight... and i mixed it up with Mauve :)

As you can see i posted it quite late at night too, so you have to forgive me for not haveing my brain at 100%

Not being rude but this has gone well and truely OFF TOPIC, all the poor guy wants is to be contacted by the person named Teal...not a discription of

a) type of colour
b) person from stargate
c) any other crap anyone else can think of

Just a simple request to see if he can use the name.

As they say...if you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem.

Anyway, Teal is quite a good name considering the names people have to resort to these days. He's more likely to want to sell it to you than give it to you.

I am happy i got replys. And to the person that thought Teal was an ok name I cant do anything but to say thanks. Used it a long time while playing quake etc.
Thanks for all the answers, even if they are non-related to subject it is still nice to read some

Maybe the best thing you can do is create a character called something else and try and contact the guild from within the game as it seems none of us here know the person.

Or call yourself Teale or something similar is a possibility maybe?

no I would just check my cd/dvd collection for another name.
On UO I had chars all named after musicians/bands (Stone, Cornell, Marley & Morgan) here I got:

Cornell (Chris Cornell - Soundgarden/Audioslave)
Carlito (from teh film duh)
Sergei (after Rebrov, a footballer :rolleyes: )
Funkeh (just some stupid name I did for a druid).

So there
