Well basically he started to gather money to buy a blueprint and then wanted to copy them and give them to his associates, but he fucked them over, earned 480million credits, gave 180million of that to his mate who helped him do the scam, but when he realized that he had to make a new char to use all that money and that the char would be unskilled and new he gave the 300million to some newbie and quit the game forever.
This is a totally unfunny summary, cause reading the whole story really has some interesting aspects =)

Biggest scam in Eve so far I've been aware of is the 'investment bank' which netted the perpetrators around 700 billion ISK - at current Ebay prices, that works out at around £80 mil GPB - with the ISK and dollar exchange rates fluctuating, it's probably that one Marc is thinking of.

And yes, I have played it for a while. I'm worth around 400 mil in Eve with around 10 mil skill points, for anyone who knows that I'm on about
