The most sought after classes in PvE?

Since I've only played DAOC much on Alb, I can obly offer my opinion there.

Please enter what you feel is the most sought after classes in DAOC for PvE groups.

I believe for Albion it is the following.

Cleric
Sorc
Armsman/merc
Minstrel.



Dunno about the other realms.

Basically in this order :-

Healers
Crowd control
Sword (or any weap) and board tanks with Guard/Protect etc..
Bubble blowers
Dmg dealers
Assorted Scum

Theurgist PBT lets you have a Body cabalist for a healer
(just about)

makes Jiggs 15 rejuv more than enough to keep the group alive.

Paladins are nice too especially in AoE Groups... 3 paladins running heal chant, and taunting monsters.. healer or two keepin them alive, rest wizards going boom!

Yeah, it's true ther's different combinations of classes that can alter preferences...
Been in a party with a few pally's in it and it worked out pretty well..

I guess I was speaking in general terms rather than quoting specific combinations of groups and their requirements.

theurgist and you can have paladins as healers for witherwoodes.

I'd say:
Cleric
Theurgist
Minstrel
Paladin/Armsman

Very rarely do you see people saying "we must get a mercenary!"

Sorcs are only ever wanted badly for tanglers, so saying they're generally wanted is wrong Theurgist is what everyone wants; PBT PBT PBT!

Well playing my cleric in ALB - i always looked for a Paladin first, in my opinion there the best PvE character around.

Getting agro off casters is damn easy for a paladin, nice to see there usefull for something.

Well, My main is a Cleric, and I played lots of times in a group with a sorc and no Theurg.
We did fine.

TBH I don't know a lot about the differences between Sorcs and Theurgs, but, going on what grps seem to prefer and the performance of the group comparing both Sorcs and theurgs...
The Sorcs seem to do fine.

Sorcs can't pbt and pbt is almost a must for high level groups. Also minstrel > serenity unless you have serenity 5

yer im just clutching at straws trying to think of something to defend sorcs, but wait we're gonna get insta debuffs !!! wooohooo so pleased we're getting insta debuffs instead of an insta mez or a bolt range ae mez



only thing I look forward to these days is siccing a caster pet on enemies defending a keep. S'funny watching an iso wiz tracking an enemy running round inside a keep casting at them until they die

hehe you ain't seen hib pbaoe groups then.

With 2 pbaoe casters in a fins group, we just need 1 bard (end song) 1 mentalist (mana regen) 2 or 3 tanks and anything else.

Wardens make it easier, due to pbt, tanking and healing, vbut not necessary.

If you want good XP in Hibs, you need a mana enchanter or eldie.

Champs are a very good addition to a group, as their instas are excellent for pulling.

'Shades: excellent class for PvE in groups, people don't seem to understand this in Hibs. Stick a 'Shade in a group as a warden, and you have 2 tanks already, and 'Shades can easily take agro off a fully-taunting LW Hero.

Yes I have actually, as I had a mana eldritch...
But actually I was thinking of loot raid groups rather than straight xping. As in mobs that hit for 500+ on level 50 tanks... Very useful to PBAE them when your tanks are dead I'm sure...

No Lin, that's not called a PBAE group, it's called a 'Vince' group.

I try frequently to send the Templar Paladins up against really big and hard things, but 'Wrath of Morded' wasn't hard enough.. I'd better find something harder.

444dmg with baseline Ice nukes and no variance due to +13 Ice is not wimpy nuking.

PBT Thuergist really should be the most sought out class for an exp group but here is a funny thing. Half the realm don't seem to know what PBT is or how it works, so my leveling from 30-42 was sheer hell even though I had 10/8 sec PBT I couldn't get a damn group even though I make life very easy for healers.
