2 out 3 comps continually LD'in - chars at beno defending. Can log in other chars in others zones. No bloody point as 60+ mids on beno and soon opening STR relic. Added to that the crappy lag made for one fun evening, not!

Vented, feel better now :)

Nah, cost too much and cba. Not sure why making the comment actually. Not really a QQ I got pawned or anything - just annoying LD's followed by not being able to log back in for ages. Was probably just numbers at Beno, but shit code anyways. If they can't log you into zone due to it being over populated then display a message and log it to a safe zone.

I'm not the only person whose been suffering form lag spikes either, plenty in /as and BG saying same for past week.

Anyways got my chars back in and was able to make Ml5 BG so feel a lot better now  . Quick whisky helped.

But back on topic. I think it would be nice if u got ported to safe zone after trying to log in 3 times or something. If/when a zone is to crowded to log into.

Quite a lot of lag myself and a number of ld's among my group, tho that didn't stop me from earning good rps :p Overall I had quite a fun night, tho the action was too easy (yes, there is such a thing as too easy :p), but the rps made up for it :D

What's wrong with it? Let me spell it out for you: the original poster is whining to GOA about connectivity to their servers, whereas I, on the other hand, am able to play flawlessly from a larger distance. Thus, it is hardly GOA's fault but rather the quality of the poster's connection?

If your playing West coast then that is true, if not the distance is not greater. Standard flight time to Dubai is 7 hours 30 mins. Only 6 hours to New York.

Secondly the amount of cable layed between US and Europe is massive, its probably the biggest amount of bandwidth between two continents in the world. Your point is flawed.

Stop whining then if u are sitting so long away. Go play on Asian server or something instead.

Doesnt really matter if you sit in australia or in lan with the server, if you have a problem, but noone else does, its hardly GOA´s fault is it?

Please get a clue, this has nothing to do with distance. According to ping plotter problems are in the opentransit network. That's lag spikes caused by Packet Loss- not GOA's problem. However, it is GOA's chosen bandwidth provider.

Problem 2 is spikes and it is not normal latency associated with living this far away. Stupid thing is that US servers give lower latency than european ones. But I choose to stay on Europe. Generally nicer people. Average ping from Dubai is 140-220, depends on tim and day of week. Which, is adequate. Usually cons green with occasional yellow on PERF Meter. Other people based in Europe and US have been getting same problems. NOT a Dubai problem.

Problem 1 - Not being able to log in chars for long periods due to them being at beno during a zergy RVR night is imo GOA's problem. If you think differently please explain. Could not log in until mids were mostly dead and albs were repairing wall. Missing RP's was not the problem I actually wanted to move a char to ML5 BG raid and only just made it. It was annoying and could be easily fixed. If number of chars in one zone is too high just port those logging in to a safe zone like CS or Snow (Albs).

Well, aren't you defeating your original point here anyway by admitting that it is the connection that is at fault here, not GOA's servers or even their connection to the European backbone?

Anyone with even a slight idea of how to read would see that thats exactly what I said, it has nothing to do with distance, too bad you didnt catch that.

There is no connection problem between Dubai and Europe. As stated Ping Plotter shows PL in Opentransit - nothing new there. Opentransit are contracted by GOA for bandwidth, they have continually underperformed in their duties. They are GOA's provider for GOA to manage. If I have a problem with a poor ISP I change provider, simple as that.

The fact that I went LD, whilst another account was logged on fine at CS, was not the main issue. It was not being able to log back in.

Enough, I'm done. Made the point I wanted to make. If you disagree fine :).
