For those not in the know, these are a cockney garage rock band with both guitarists as main singers.

The act started at 9.45pm and quite obviously you could see they were pissed off there heads. To start off with they played Horrorshow, one of there best songs IMO but erm nobody could hear it.....

Im annoyed for 2 reasons, firstly i had to wait about 45minutes for the stage guys to set up there gear and stuff. And secondly when they come on stage the guitars are so loud you cant hear the singers or barely the drums.

After about 6 crappy b-side / new album songs the sound crew eventually sort them out and things improved.

Only to my annoyance the gig finished at 10.30pm and we couldn't even stay in the bar to have a drink or a chat.

Why???


Coz of some crappy country and western disco that was starting at 11pm!!!


Possibly the worst gig ever??... ... ... maybe

i saw the libertines last august i think, it was a mess of feedback and super nosiy guitars.

REALLY enjoyable though,Peter and Carl both have a tendancy to mumble, slur and scream their way through sets, because they're lazy fucks...if you catch them on form they're brilliant.

are Lefthand still touring with them?

The Libertines have had to cancel their European tour, due to illness. On the
afternoon of Thursday 27th February in Hamburg vocalist and guitarist Carl Barât
was diagnosed by a doctor as having bronchial pneumonia and ordered not to
perform and to cancel the rest of the European tour.
