What is it about the majority of the Coens' films that makes it possible for them to be so obviously clever, so obviously full of imagination, so well made yet ultimately sooo...fucking...DULL!??

Fargo dull? Oh, Brother, Dull? The Big Lebowski, Dull? Even Intolerable Cruelty wasn't dull. Get help.

Unfortunately The Ladykillers was dull. Unoriginal, unfunny and dull.

It's the Coen's version of Everything is Relative. Sometimes it's impossible to avoid making The Shit Film.

Fargo ain't dull, not seen Intolerable Cruelty or Oh Brother, and as much as I like The Big Lebowski, it's good moments are interspersed with much tedium.

I second that on Big Lebowski tbh. I got bored about half way through while all around me were waxing lyrical :/

I love the coen brothers work, but I didn't like The Big Lebowski or Intolerable Cruelty. Fargo is one of my favourite movies though, and O Brother is great.

The original "The Ladykillers" was a great, all time classic, film. American's don't understand subtle humour, so one shouldn't be surprised that an American remake is utter dross.

One obviously has no idea about the Coen brothers. They're not your average americans.

But I hear The Ladykillers is crap - 's a shame :\

Just about everything they have ever made has been utterly brilliant. My personal favourite is 'The Big Lebowski', but you should watch 'The Man Who Was Never There' as a superb example of irony.

Ahem - The Man Who Wasn't There.

I didn't much like that film, but it looked absolutely stunning.
