I'll be honest, I'm against whale hunting in principle because of the "we do it for scientific research" bollocks. If they just were honest and said we hunt them to eat, and made sure it was sustainable I wouldn't have a concern.
I'd also probably eat whale meat if given the chance, I don't believe in wastage. If it's already been killed, why not make use of it?
How does the ability to see the backside of a whale, from a boat, on a GOOD tourist day affect humanity or this planet?
Species die, these days they die due to us, but since it's all either "unknown" or "pre-deterined", and since we evolved to this point where we can make a species extinct, it's either evolution or "meant to be"
When whales are almost gone, kill the last, save a few and/or move on to next meat.
This planet has had several other species that have eradicated other species to extinction along the years. Way of the world, people just are too f*cking keen on saving every last bit of stuff.
There would be far more sport in hunting whalers. Spear one through the arse, drag it home kicking and screaming, smack it over the head and feed it to your family.
