Hi folks,

I have started the Kaminjosvig Corporation as a new venture in Eve. Having spent a long time over there and been in a few corps and alliances I think I need to try and build something that I can call home. As a result well I just decided to get this up off the ground.

The goal is to build a solid and well known PvP focused corp but it is going to take a while for this side of things to get going.

The basic idea of the corp can be found here:

index

Kaminjosvig is an anagram of Jomsvikinga. The Jomsvikings are well documented although much of what is told is legend. The point is they were supposed to have been a renowned Mercenary corporation who never backed down when faced with equal odds and who stuck together. In the spirit of these ideas I am hoping to build a corp that can bring together people who are like minded.

The Kaminjosvig will be owned by the members and run by the members for the members. Anything we make will be shared out and those that need most are given first.

The Kaminjosvig vision will be to build a brother hood renowned for their fighting spirit and uncompromising approach to PvP. When facing equal odds we will be known first and foremost for not backing down.

I would welcome anyone from FH who I shared time with in DaoC both as an enemy and as a realm mate. Your all welcome - basically there is a chance here to contribute to something new in Eve. Basically if you fancy popping along to the game and giving it a go I can give you some space along with a friendly face.

I want to build a very tight knit corp that will eventually become known as a decent Merc corp.

Good luck with that mate, lot of effort getting a corp running well. Whereabouts you gonna be based?

Ben.

Up in Abagawa north of Jita at the moment. I have been playing the game for a while but got fed up of Corps that just take and keep taking from people. You know you would spend whole nights running around for them and get very little in return.

So I decided to try and do stuff differently. I just want a very tight knit corp of people who stick together. I thought of some people here if they fancy a home they are more than welcome to join me. Like I said this will be a tight corp of Mercs!!

Apart from that thanks for the reply!!

Hmm, altho I'm pretty happy in my current corp, based in 0.0 Geminate this idea makes me slightly interested.

However as you write in your forum there are alot of practical "holes", how to start being mercenaries and such and not to mention getting decent enough numbers to be a force reckoned with. Rather than wardeccing miner corps and camping stations in empire.

Will it start with pirating? How to earn cash for ships and modules with no access to 0.0 space and so on... and not to mention keeping activity levels decent not to bore members.

I'll add you to my address book and keep an eye when things are progressing :)

Hi LordjOX,

well I have been with a lot of people who have promised a lot of things. You know already how costly the game is if a corp just takes and does not give to people. How many people join a corp and spend loads of ISK getting to their location only to find they have moved and stuff?

There are some things to work out here but this is a corp that will I hope decide to work for a better game. The better game in Eve is not always in 0.0. It begins with what the corps are trying to do. I think I have been clear this is about a group of people for each other. None of that tax crap and nothing to do with pretending we are taking people to places they aren't going. But it is very early days and it is going to take loads of time.

So your right to say - who knows. In my view this is not a ganking idea otherwise I would drop all the stuff I have done. I would let the website go and figure the idea has no mileage. But I think this is a good idea. So I am gonna give it a go. :)

This is a one person idea at the moment so I am not going to paint it up. It needs good people to make it more than it is. It needs a boost right now. I am thinking we can do a lot if we work at it.

At the end of the day I am willing to stake my own ISK proving it.

Near Jita eh, not been there myself but I've heard it's nice :eek7:

A badly (read not at all) thought out idea follows: How about lvl 5 missions with a gang, they're low-sec, you earn isk & piratty types will probably be trying to scan you out the entire time you're there in the hope of juicy mission runner mods or a ransom. Thus you're earning goodies and if they're any good the PVP will come to you! Have a couple of recons cloaked at the warp in point to catch anyone maybe?

I've recently moved back into a small corp with a couple of friends, having been bored shitless in the Drone regions. I like the comment on your forums about what you are hoping for in a year, good luck with it.

Ben.

P.S. I wouldn't get past the preliminary interview stage anyway, was in a pirate corp for 3 months and had a KDR of 0:3 :ninja:

lol you've been a bit naughty :)

I like your idea as well a nice way to turn the tables on the pirates. :)

This Corp is an idea I am open to groups of people who know each other to come along and make it happen - but they really would need to want to envisage a Corp of Merc's who stand and fight and hold the line and do not leave each other behind. Sec status and past histories don't matter - all that matters is that people are prepared to PvP and do it for a laugh.

I have seen so many crap corps in Eve, so many time wasters and people who basically skim ISK off members. This Corp is a collective the members get all cash from anything we loot and get paid. There will be no Taxes and the Corp wallet will not be holding cash for any real length of time.

Its all about getting ISK and spending it having a right laugh blowing stuff up. ;)

So think about it. I am open to people coming in and taking the ideas up and making it work. All I have done here is provide the websapce and some basic ideas to begin with. I think its got a lot of mileage and at some stage in the future I would expect to be in EON.

Yeah I know many corps on the recruiting drive delivers false promises. Been in a few of those that have to leave the area they reside in because of internal strife, raids from other alliances or whatever.
Atm tax in my corp is pretty steep, 20%. But then again there's alot of benefits of it, I still make alot of cash to go around and we get carrier runs from empire and back and everything else for free. Only thing I wished was more corp related activities, but initiative for that is also starting up now. Although very many US players and US times on weekdays is a no-go for me. hehe

But I am content with ratting, mining and making ships. :)

Like taB, am no super-pvper. Sure I have my fair share of killmails and pirating and such, but I also die alot. hehe. Mostly to my own stupidity though, thinking that the next gate is safe, no need to scout that. doh :)

I don't think your idea is new, a corp that is entirely for the members and do stuff together, die and fail whatever the odds and cost. Maybe most others failed at that? But we will see I guess :)
EVE is alot more complex, nothing can be done without ISK, thus corps or members needs some form of stable income to replace ships and modules.

However in the start it will be your sole job to keep the initiative going to do stuff together and keeping corp activities up for whatever the few members there may be. IMO it's far from enough to just "give a webspace and some basic ideas".

aye totally right mate. I have several new members in already. The good thing is they are at the same level in the game and can play together. I am busy running around in my destroyer blowing stuff up for them.

At some stage I am going to take them into low sec space to look for peewits :)

Anyway its nice to see that it is working out. Has been fun starting it - even though I have done nothing but sit on eve for two days trying to get it off the ground.

After poking about on your killboards, the few kills you have there are people in noobcorps and such. Are you pirates now then?

nope we are PvP and if you have new players you don't take them out to fight BoB on their first outing now do you? We are only just starting our PvP so I would expect the board to start reflecting that hopefully over the next couple of weeks.

Nah but in regard to the corp description I'd see it would be some strategic war dec to build up some reputation.

we just did that last night :D

The war goes live tonight after 22.22 eve time.

We had to hop over to Kaminjosvig because Ucntkilme still had shares in the old corp. Now we are free from that influence we can crack on with PvP.

Lets hope the server is working after DT today - it was a bit of a nightmare last night.
