The Jackass craze

Has anybody noticed this unusual desire to hurt themselves recently, usually inspired by the presence of a camera but not always. It was funny at first, most skaters who have made a local video usually include a piece at the end with spills and people mucking about but now that the jackass craze has hit its just lost its appeal.

World Famous for Dicking Around. Its filmed about 40 miles north of me, and I find it really funny compared to Jackass, probably because its Scottish.

I still find Jackass funny (the movie was a riot) mainly because they were the pioneers of it all. The problem for me is that anyone else who does it, whether or not they take more risks or whatever, are ultimately just knockoffs of the original.
