I normally dont read this sort of thing as most of its dry and boring.

I was at a friends how after school one day and she had loads of books on her bookcase so i brought it up and she offered to lend me some so I said ok :-]

I ended up getting this one, didnt really expect to read it, but I thought i'd read the first chapter or two so I could say i started it :D

Ended up reading the whole book in one evening.

Dont want to ruin the book, but for 6-7 quid, its a good buy :-]

I love books like this, great historical information, I'd also recommend similar titles like Longitude (was on TV), the similarly titled Latitude Zero, Nathanials Nutmeg and The Calendar, another related book is A Gathering of Saints about document fraud amongst the Mormons but might be out of print.

Edit: added URLs

Its not particularly historical, but it is very interesting :-]

It does have some historical chapters explaining why maps were so important and in olden days gaurded more closely than gold :-]
