Seriously, if so many of them are this stupid. Here's a an argument which the author seriously believes demolishes the theory of evolution. Where on Earth would you start to point out where he's going wrong ??

One of the most astounding and preposterous claims made by evolutionists is that the human coccyx is the remains of an ancient tail. This is certainly a very amusing notion on one level, but the humor of the tale of the tail is lost when it is pointed out that it is still being taught to public school children as science. The suggestion is that we lost this tail because we no longer need it. I would agree with Kent Hovind that a tail would still come in handy. For instance, at the moment that I am writing this essay I am using both hands to type; I sure would like to be able to take a sip from my coffee cup without interrupting my typing. I could even turn the pages of music without interrupting the music. I have this Bach piece with a page turn in the middle of a flurry of 32nd notes that was troubling me just today. Why would we lose something so handy?

If we did use to have a tail, I wonder what we did with it that was so unimportant. Perhaps we used it to wag when we were happy to see other people, and we later decided that shaking hands was more dignified, so the tails just started falling off. Or maybe the tails were prehensile and we started overeating and got too heavy for the tails, and they just started breaking off when we tried to hang from trees. These wacky scientists (falsely so called) actually go on to say that this "vestigial tail" has no use at all now that it has fallen or broken off. The coccyx is more than the end of the spinal column. The human coccyx is the attachment point of nine muscles that allow for a number of movements, most important of which is for the act of defecation. Evolutionists should ask Ashley Murry of Wilmington, Delaware if she agrees with their conclusion that a coccyx is unnecessary. This young woman will be forced to wear a diaper for her entire life because she was born without a coccyx. It is unlikely that she would be very supportive of their contention.1 Another important use of the coccyx is that it assists us in the act of sitting. It is not impossible to sit without one, but it is awkward and uncomfortable. Furthermore, the coccyx helps to support certain internal organs.2

Even if we were not able to point to a precise use for the coccyx, it would still be a great absurdity to state that the end of the spine is useless. The spine has to end somewhere, so why not with the coccyx. It would not make a lot of sense for it to end with an open and unprotected spinal cord, it would be painful and messy with all of the spinal fluid dripping out into one's legs. This error on the behalf of false scientists is by no means harmless. My stepfather was told by an incompetent doctor that he needed to have his coccyx removed due to a back problem. Fortunately, he got a second opinion from a doctor who not only told him that the only thing that he needed was a series of back exercises, but that the coccyx removal operation was no longer performed by doctors. Nevertheless, apparently it was performed until fairly recent times. Those doctors who fell for this Darwinian nonsense about the coccyx would have discovered the error within twenty-four hours after their very first operation. By the way, my stepfather has not had any serious back problems in the last 30 years since following the doctor with the second opinion, and he saved a sizeable amount of money that he would have had to spend on adult diapers, braces, and follow-up surgeries. As absurd as the claim of the coccyx being useless is, it still persists.

Professed expert on science and evolutionary proponent, Isaac Asimov, numbers among modern "scientists" who have used the coccyx as an example of a vestigial organ.3 Why does he have any credibility at all, if he can believe such a yarn? The persistence of this false belief is without excuse and must be seen for what it is, propaganda for Darwinistic religion, and another great piece of evidence of the stupidity of evolutionists.

Obviously some people aren't benefitting properly from evolution and still have all the brain-power of a cauliflower.

Ok, 'moron' is perhaps not the word for this guy. Every now and then you get someone who, not content with just being stupid, has to attempt to learn complex topics such as human physiology. The result is someone who while remaining unintelligent, still possesses a wealth of knowledge about a subject matter. However simply knowing a lot of things does not mean he has the intelligence to comprehend them and thus concoct theories of his own in an attempt to explain things he does not understand.

"Them", to refer to the human race?

Is there something you're not telling us?

But if evolution was true surely people should be becoming more intelligent and reasonable?

God gave us coccyges (plural of coccyx, I had to look it up) so that we can shit and have orgasms?

I know that there are holes in the theory of evolution, many unexplainable occurences, but I am amazed by these people who point them out and then insist that it is proof that the bible is true, like it is clearly the only possible alternative explanation.

evolution is stumped a bit these days since (i know it sounds heartless but..) we look after people who would otherwise not be strong enough to survive and reproduce, such as infertile couples, mentally ill, disabled etc etc.

I'd bet a million quid that if we split the world down the middle. Religious bastards one site and the other side for Atheists that the relgious people would all kill themselves long before the atheists.

The selective source provision (though Wij hasn't included them, you can see the numbered references) is very telling. Not worth your time, it reads like a lot of the climate change bashing articles. ;)

Oh so this guy has found spurious uses for a tail, but found that it has gone and won't grow back? I wish he could enlighten me as to at what point it is safe to stop reading/thinking and to start asserting things. Forums would certainly be a hell of a lot easier, for a start.

hrm this fellow cant seem to make up his mind on the way he types. One can only assume he has either a split personality or likes to copy alot :) or book smart

how in gods name can u take a man seriously when he refers to "diapers", "wacky scientists" and begins rambling on about some nonsensical event in his life that has nothing to do with the discusion at hand anyway!

Evolutionary pressure can stem from just about anything, social as well as environmental. Changing patterns in when people have babies, pollutants in the water supply reducing sperm counts, increasing obesity from all the junk food we eat, these can all be selective processes but I think you need to have a significant and long term change to really affect the whole population.

Its not a "Fact", its a theory. To those of us that believe in a God and in creation the idea we had tails and hung from trees is imbecilic too. You will find that some scientists happen to believe in God and creation, its not a viewpoint restricted to non-thinking people.

Now just accepting what somebody else teaches you at school, or not thinking about where we came from or why or not even caring -- that is what is truly stupid. And sadly that is true of a number of evolutionists and creationists.

That site is just great.

Apparently dinosaurs were in the bible, but were wiped out, not because of a meteor, nor any of our other fancy evolutionist theories, but by Noah's flood, because he didn't build the boat big enough! What a bastard, if he'd only built the ark a bit bigger we could still have t-rex wandering around North America.

teh bible said:
15 "Look at the behemoth, [a]
which I made along with you
and which feeds on grass like an ox.

16 What strength he has in his loins,
what power in the muscles of his belly!

17 His tail sways like a cedar;
the sinews of his thighs are close-knit.

18 His bones are tubes of bronze,
his limbs like rods of iron.

19 He ranks first among the works of God,
yet his Maker can approach him with his sword.

20 The hills bring him their produce,
and all the wild animals play nearby.

21 Under the lotus plants he lies,
hidden among the reeds in the marsh.

22 The lotuses conceal him in their shadow;
the poplars by the stream surround him.

23 When the river rages, he is not alarmed;
he is secure, though the Jordan should surge against his mouth.

24 Can anyone capture him by the eyes, [c]
or trap him and pierce his nose?

Job 40 #15-24 that is, from the generic english bible. nearly every internet bible resource I can lay my hands on refer to the behemoth as possibly a hippo. or else unknown dum de dum dum :) I'm inclined to believe it's a hippo, based on my penchent for watching the discovery channel ahem :)

Evolution is indeed a theory, but it is one that can be scientifically tested, whereas creation is a story that cannot.

My money is on Evolution, it makes far more sense.

Edit: No mention of the long Apatosaur neck, is there? And I trust carbon dating when they give fossils a date more than the words of a bloke several thousand years ago. And why did they change it to Apatosaur anyway? Brontosaurus - "Thunder Lizard" is much better imho.

Actually - if you believe in creationism (or "Intelligent Design") you're doing exactly what you yourself said is so bad just now - accepting what somebody else teaches you.

Fundamentalist Christians in the US have been pushing creationism for years and trying to knock evolution (with limited success - most Americans, though moronic, can see through that shit). However, they've modified their arguments and Intelligent Design is gaining ground and there's a lot of pressure on some US schools to teach it during their science lessons!

Here's the crux of the argument:

Evolution - a theory - tried and tested over many years. Subject to scientific peer review - thousands upon thousands of scientists (including some of the most celebrated minds that have existed) have done their utmost best to poke holes in evolution - to fuck it over. And they couldn't. This is why this is a scientific theory - because it's been tested so exhaustively that it's accepted as fact now.

Creationism/ID - a theory - which by it's very nature requires an act of faith and, most importantly, no amount of scientific testing can be done to validate the claims of the theory. So you have to accept it as-is.

You should see creationism and ID for what they really are: A well-funded Fundamentalist Christian attack on Science.

Why? Because, for a lot of people, science makes Christianity (and loads of other religions) redundant and some believers just can't stomach this.

Personally, I'm not an atheist. I believe in some sort of higher power (although I don't really go for organised religion). However, I can reconcile this belief with my scientific understanding. Some people cannot.

Simple as that.

Ah, no, Noah apparently got all the dinosaurs on his boat as well, (young 'uns it seems)

Creationist idiot website said:
Dinosaurs would have emerged from the ark to inhabit an entirely different world. Instead of a warm, mild climate worldwide, they would have found a harsh climate which soon settled into an ice age. If climatic hardships did not cause the dinosaur's extinction, man's tendency to destroy probably did.

But strangely, while we find wooly mammoths and sabre tooth tigers, we don't find any ice-age dinosaurs. Ah, the absurdity.

Ok, so noah couldn't fit the diansours on his ark. But how many species did he actually fit on there. We are aware of the common things like sheep, cows, etc. But what about the millions of species of insect life. Shouldn't they no longer exist.

In fact, unless Noah's Ark was actually a metaphor for an entire continent that was spared from the flood, how could he have made a boat big enough to hold two of every animal in the animal kingdom and leave room for adquate toilet facilities and a tennis court?

A surprisingly lively and interesting Slashdot discussion on Kansas School Board's adoption of ID and the redefinition of science as no longer limited to the search for natural explanations of phenomena. :eek7:

Its very difficult to have a simple discussion about whether we arrived through a singular act of creation or if we evolved. People are disinclined to believe in a God for many reasons -- because they see how religions act, because they dislike the concept of 'miracles', because of the moral requirements.

If we can just stick to the one area I'd be glad to discuss it.
