The Gadget Show - Live

Picked up a couple of tickets half price from someone who had to cancel last minute and so I am up at 6am to drive to the NEC in Brum. Never been to one of these consumer shows before, has anyone been to the Gadget Show Live and can recommend some things worth doing?

i went on friday and tbh was quite disapointed


was nothing new or shiny was basicly a massive indoor market of people trying to sell you shit

99% of which has been avalible for at least 6 months



it's not interactive atall and thiers very little going on



can't say alot more than that really lol

need to make up your own mind ofc but i don't remember an single thing about the exhibits taht had anything to do with the gadget show itself :<



they did have a replica batmobile from the uber cheesy 50's series tho xD

Ack, that is kind of what I feared, was hoping for something like COMDEX but I knew that was gonna be a stretch.

Went to this meself.

Never been to a consumer show so it was all new to me and found it rather cool. Did just smack of compnies turning up to sell you stuff but meh, I didn't know what these things consisted of in the first place.

Got to have a go at Duke Nukem forever though and found it distinctly average, not buying that

Pile of old shite, nothing new on display at all and not cheap to get in either. Food/drink prices onsite were obscene.

Oh and yes, Duke on the 360 was shockingly bad in places, the desert textures were so low res and blurry in areas it was sickening.

Only stand of note was Nvidia who worked fucking hard to deliver an experience and actually make you want thier products. AMD were fucking rubbish.

Glad I went if not only to have seen the 3D games/televisions and confirmed what's probably common knowledge already; that it's a load of shite, heh.

Oh and Lamp, Jason Bradbury was in a mankini during the show i'm told so there's hope for you yet

All that makes me feel so much better, I always wanted a trip the Gadget Show live, now I'm glad I've never been.

And yes, Suzi Perry... oh and the new blonde one they have now who's name I never listen to when they introduce her..
