I just saw this don't know if anyone else has but its quite amazing and feels futuristic for sure.

Actual testing is already in effect and included in the video is a LIVE test you can see the missle exploding next to the tank with no damage sustained to the tank.

Enjoy

That's insane!

Does it stop anti-tank rifle shots too or just missles?

Its scary really to think all this science fiction stuff is becoming a reality.

I rember reading in a paper a few years back some British Military contractors had found a way of discharging huge capacitors through the hull of a tank to "vaporise" projectiles not heard anything of it it since though.

Read that too.. but this is real! probably wouldn't have looked at it twice if it was just theory.

Pretty amazing - my first impression was that it was a hoax or fake, after a quick google search it seems that a few of the more informed technology websites have information about it, so it seems to be real.

I'll take four! :D

Yeah, seriously. That video really sucked. I was interested in the live action stuff, but all that typically american over the top advertisement shit was terrible. And the fact that, yes, it isn't really anything approaching a "force field" does rather show up their hyperbole.

Also I'm fairly sure that the afforementioned 'capacitor-discharge' protection thing was "real", and I think I remember seeing a demonstration of an RPG against a tank with it in use.

Haha, well. The OTT-ness was still 'typically American', even if they're not.

It will be interesting to see what the poor bloody infantry think of it; the 'friendly fire' potential is immense, but then I guess a tank is worth more than a soldier...
