Remake is the shittest thing ever made. I would find pulling my brain out through my nose more enjoyable than watching this absolutely SHIT remake of a brilliant film.

The remake wasn't all that good, few scares here and there but nothing to shit your pants over. :p
Worth a watch if you're bored though.

Wow, I know you warned me but who the hell lets turds like this float upstream?

They bits they tried to improve on sucked balls, the bits they tried to copy sucked even bigger balls, the bits they changed were even worse!

WTH was right with this remake? The music sucked, the scares weren't at all jumpy (that's the whole scare factor of the original right there) and the make up looked like someone had chewed up some paper, painted it red and stuck it to the face.

And WTF was with the blonde bird at the end? Her lookalike died in the fire on the boat 130+ years ago so what the hell is her spitting image doing walking around the island??

They REALLY fucked up the weatherman scene which I think is one of the best scares. And what's with the kid being psychic all of a sudden?

The fog effects were shite too. In the original there's no fog apart from the fog itself. In the remake everywhere just seemed caked in fog and then even thicker fog came! ARGH!

I really like the original, one of my fave JC movies next to Halloween. I even bought it on region months and months before it arrived on region 2 (gawd bless Play.com).

If I were him I'd be ashamed of such a shoddy remake and give my royalties back on principle.

I haven't seen the remake and I doubt I will, but the original film scared me witless when I was a lad. Its all about proper use of the imagination to frighten people, and by god it works when done well. Its something that modern directors don't seem to understand, the only exception being The Blair Witch Project.
