This thread is for anyone who said something along the lines of - "LAN play - I'm happy to sacrifice that" or "LAN? it's not needed" or "the internet is so stable why the fuck do you want an offline mode" or "mwah mwah mwah mwah I'm a blinkered fanboi cunt0r who won't accept that it's 'reasonable' to want to play a game with no connection to the internet and will flame anyone who thinks it's a stupid money-grabbing decision by an out-of-touch company rather than consider their view" - to fess-up to their complete wrongness and apologise.

I've not played for a week (busy moving house and I was getting pissed off with getting kicked off and all the logon issues anyway) - but thought I'd have a quick blast, by myself, and O M F.U.C.K.I.N.G G I'm STILL getting Error37.

What a MAHOOSIVE sack of wank.

Come on. You know you want to. The internet is full of people who never apologise when they're wrong. Man up. Put your hand up and write an apology below...

:)

I couldn't give a toss about lan play. I am not carrying my PC round to someones house just so I can play multiplayer with them. Left that in the 90s.

Would be awesome to just bring ones laptop to a mate's place and start all new characters like back in the DII days tho...

As was CLEARLY stated - "along the lines of" - LAN wasn't the only gripe and you're deliberately twisting the meaning:

the very post above yours said:
"why the fuck do you want an offline mode"

...

So then. Apologies?

Edit:
Would be awesome to just bring ones laptop to a mate's place and start all new characters like back in the DII days tho...

Exactly what I did on the first available weekend. Had a couple of mates round. Connection issues. No LAN play FFS.

The internet is perfectly stable :) Blizzard servers don't appear to be up to scratch though which is a short term problem (Yeah, a big problem atm)

It's a game ruining problem for me. I've hit submit on the refund ticket. I've not got so much life that I need to burn it up getting angry about a really fucking stupid money-based decision.

Torchlight 2 advertises itself as having LAN play btw ;)

No but you happily waste it moaning on here hehe.
Yeah it's shit and should not happen, and you should not settle for this, but we do because we wanna play it.

I'll fess up to saying LAN isn't important.

And i'll stand by that comment. The future is fully online not local, admittedly Blizz have made some balls ups along the way, but personally i've not had any issues aside the first 2 hours login.

Stand by about me stating LAN wasn't important. Don't give a shit about it, annoying about perm online but I knew about that before the game come out.

Totally not bothered about lan play either, not a factor at all in my decision to play a game or not.

I want offline mode simply because i want to play my singleplayer game when *I* want to, not when Blizzard deems me worthy to connect to their servers...

Umm, no. I've been playing games for long enough to know that these things happen, no matter what game and i've prepared for it accordingly; in other words by not planning my life around the damn game and expecting downdays.

I've always said though, you can have your offline play if there's NO option to join online features later. It'll take some time though as the system is based on online play.

You could name this as the "f*ck off" thread though and everyone who is bored, tired, whatnot about diablo 3 can gather here, then f*ck off the forums and play something else and NOT bother those who enjoy the game with the internet-"educated" rages.

To put it in other terms;

"I played for a full week+ solid with no issues, then on thursday i couldn't. No biggie.". You coming in at the wrong time is not complete failure of connection.

On the moneygrabbing, posted a lot on that issue in the main-thread and not reposting it to see more facts get ignored :p

If I could have played offline it would have kept my attention more tbh.

I actually agree at the moment. I haven't been able to play for days now. I work during the day and don't really get on until gone 7pm.

Offline mode would solve all their problems but would mean they can't milk the real money AH.

They can't milk it any more then they could with offline play.

Offline play = no auction house. Those who would use an auction house wouldn't play offline.

And saying that forced online brings more people to RMAH is a bit bull, since it's not the only option and those who would want to play without an auction house to begin with, won't touch RMAH anyway.

Lots of people ignoring the fact that "offline" isn't LAN, despite that very point being addressed in the first few posts.

Finding arguments to back up how you feel? A lack of an offline mode (and, frankly, LAN also for me as I still have friends I actually see) is a monumental fuck up.

At least some people agree with the offline mode point:

I want offline mode simply because i want to play my singleplayer game when *I* want to, not when Blizzard deems me worthy to connect to their servers...

:)

Personally, I don't think things like Chosen's experience is OK or "fair":

So someone still not able to get in? I get to the page where I can type in the authenticator info, but then I get booted back out(Wrong login etc).. Tried everything to "solve" this, but nothing seems to work. Also having a hard time sending them a ticket, seeing that I have to be logged in to do that.....

The way the loot system is designed is that you can't play without a RMAH. 3 drops in the entire 3 play thorughs that were usable so far and I am on act 1 inferno. You could call it unlucky, I call it bullshit, I pick up every single blue, out of the thousands that I must have picked up, to only have 3 that are any use is rather strange.

Some people who wouldn't ordinarily use real money will get tempted to spend the odd fiver here and there on the odd drop, nothing massive but at a 15% cut, a nice little earner for Blizzard.

Or just use the gold auction house?

Paranoia on the loot table though, as is a lot of other complaints.

I dont know, I've had the same experience. Not found a single upgrade drop in about the last 12 levels. hundreds of blues and all sold as crap.

It might be due to it being a 20% chance(at a core with 5 classes) to get anything useful as it is all random(as is diablo way). That means 4/5 times you don't get what you need.

But i wouldn't put that down to greed, i'd put it down to artificial longetivity, but that's always been diablo.

I'm not sure itemization based on class played would be better.
