Hi Folks

Now I know that 90% of the people in here might have encountered this already, but with the arrival of hl2 and seeing the numbers of new cs:s players asking questions on a server last night I thought this might be a good place to start throwing in common questions etc.

The average response from some of the 'I have been playing cs:s for 2 hours more than you so I can generally take the piss out of you and try and make you feel dumb' crowd to any question is to tell you to press F10. Don't do it - it quits you out to desktop. If I had a penny for every press F10 tard on the cs:s servers atm I would have at least £10!!1

oh and to get console you have to enable it via options, Keyboard then advanced (tick enable developer console)

its not a bug... F10 is bound for "quit".. and it is funny to reply with "press f10 for console" and see 2-3-4 clients pop off the server

My quit button has been F10 since the days of Quake 2, so its not really an issue
Last night I was playing while a bit pissed (no suprise there , I know) and someone said the classic "how do I get console?" . Im afraid I must be honest, I did say "press F10", and Im afraid 4 people quit the server.

My console was already up when I pressed ESCape, though I don't really use it. All I need is the movement keys and F1.

The amount of people you can get to press f10 is great. Also proves how many people are willing to exploit, as most seem to be told that pressing f10 will give them an advantage of some sort.

Gotta say that while I have enjoyed a flirtation with CS:S (haven't played CS for years), the average players on public servers are the most unfriendly abusive fucktards I have ever met on any MP game.

Considering that like many here I have been gaming online since the Q2 days, and have played most FPS's worth the name online that is saying something.

Fucking stupid imo - we are all there to enjoy ourselves, and everyone learns sometime, why the aggro?

I used to play CS but only occasionally and mostly via a LAN with mates (how it SHOULD be played!).

Since finishing HL2 I've been giving CS:S a whirl and am starting to enjoy it more and more BUT there are so many fkin muppets with real anger management issues. Yeah you get them in every game and I know public servers are always a bit iffy again in every game but...grr

So bored of hearing people go "F10 for cheats, F10 for this, F10 for that".

I was playing a bit cack on dust2 and then suddenly started to get into shape and started killing a few T's. Used smoke, didn't run round like a headless chicken and managed to get a few kills - to which I was met with abuse from a T saying I should "play the game properly". Copius swearing followed.

Well in the space of 2 hours play on CS:S I had heard more racism than at a spanish footie match, been personally abused for the heinous crime of shooting an opponent in the back (apparently you should walk up, bow, and politely ask if they mind dying for not checking doorways as they run past) and god knows what else.

I was really trying to enjoy the game, but knowing I had anything to do with some of these cretins made me quit in disgust.

BF:V may well be worse (I prefer 1942 tbh), but why are these arseholes even allowed on servers? Oh for an admin on every server....

This is why I disable voice comms, and don't read the chat unless there is someone on the server I know (rare). This is a habit that sometimes sees me ignoring people on servers like Kea, I really never read the text.
