Batcuffs have been around for ages and the CS spray, batspray that is, is put into the yellow utility belt, next to the batarang!

this reminds me of an artical i was reading for one of my college projects about jack the ripper:

at the time JTR was about police were trying everything to trap him, some dressed as coachmen some as drunks in able to penetrate the underworld and catch a glimpse of him unnoticed, one even dressed as a prostitute (this was not authorised by the police, he just did it off his own merrit) any way this pc dressing up as a hooker became well known in the borough. One evening a pc was on the beat and he saw what was obviously a man in womans attire so he went up to him and asked "are you one of us?" meaning a copper, the man in a dress was an undercover reporter and thought the pc was making a homosexuamal remark so walloped him and was then arrested for assulting a police officer.

you dont imagine those sort of shinnanigens going on in victorian london now do you?
