To get a dedicated server running.....

Copy your Operation Flashpoint shortcut and add "-server"

i.e. something like ...
C:\OperationFlashpoint\OPERATIONFLASHPOINT.EXE -server

Works for me.

Whether this is the full dedicated server or what no idea.

this is clientside server stuff to get OFP ready for the full dedicated software later on...at least thats what i hope it is

Yep but it does run an actual dedicated server this way i.e. No graphics or client game running, just a server window with client connect messages etc.

but does it have a remote console? if not it would be a nightmare for any gsp to admin.

Yes sort of. Someone in the game needs to login as the admin (with a password) then you can send some commands to it.
