Hiya,

Well, like the topic saids, anyone know anything about that dead norse fisherman, who washed up after the storm over albion? he appeared if you take a right after entering Lyonesse.

Heard something about a team searching for other survivors to? ..

Well, just wondering, if it might be some part of a campaign, an event, or just some nice adventuring :)

Would be great with a _real_ quest, where you had to figure out alot of puzzles etc. after all, it is a RPG.

Anyways, anyone know of anything more of this dead norseman? (btw serves him right :p stupid middies)

Aye was there, a little late but i seen the dead guy!<smiles>

Apparently the Dead Fisherman had his boat destroyed in the storm..which lasted for several days, he also had with him a bunch of supplys? (or rasions)(or however ye spell it). So..The Templars and other people (whoms guilds i do not know, i only know of Templars because i am from the Order(and very proud too!)) went along the shore for a few minutes looking for any other items of information, ship debree boxes that sort of thing, and found nothing...

As we was searching for clues, a person who remained at the site of the body said he saw a witch shaped creature high in the air, called 'Wild', about the time of the body of the Fisherman dissapeared from the shore (im nopt sure if we know of these incidents as connected in anyway, maybe the witch tryed to cover up the evidence? maybe the item found on the body is a major clue?). I know not if this is true or not but i trust the person whom said he saw it, he also says it was aggressive which rules out the event of a bug, as there is a character called Wild also <hopes for the love of god it wasn't him>. So we then went out into the Sea, and also found nothing. We gathered up various info, i think these may have been from the Silent Paladin Ghost Kyla, which can be found at the entrance to Llyn Barfog, there was also a talk of a Person called 'Kall', i dont know if anyone has already seen this person but i found him earlyer today, down in barrows, and as there was talk of a 'wailing stone' or something wailing bieng a cavern of some sort and the stone bieng a dungeon, i put these together to get the echo room in the Barrows, (which everyone else may have found obvious). from then on i had some RL things to attend to so i fear i missed most of the other happenings, thats all i know about this could be, should be, hopefully would be event.

Ociros, old chap, just *how* do you recognise a roleplayer? As far as I know they don't carry signs above their head ;)

By definition someone can play a role ["roleplay"] at any time. So people responding to the broadcast messages in Lyonesse are roleplayers.

Some individuals choose to remain "in character" at all times, but it's amazing how that 100% in character seems to relate to people wanting to talk about who they fancy; who they've loved and lost. Not so much roleplay as an Arthurian soap opera

For me roleplaying in DaOC is attending arranged events and responding to the epic quests/events that are now being run. Anyone that does that is a roleplayer :)

You can tell a roleplayer by the length of their beards.. Including the women! ;)

<is a roleplayer and proud of it>

Not sure if it is related, but there is a new person on the shores of Lake Yggdra. I tried talking to her, but she claims to need quiet and is waiting for her god Mirmir (or something similiar). However, it's a little dangerous to get there for most!

This could just be some quest I know nothing of however.

Found stuff

Was there... seen it... done it...

We found booty bags just north of the entrance to Lyonesse. Nothing in 'em except dead fish and cloth squares but I'm sure there would have been something somewhere. The booty bags just kept respawning.

There are 4 new npcs in Camelot that i have found,
One is Inigo de Camelot,
One is the fish merchant (who sells fish ans herbs, say herbs to him and hell say something) ,
One is Gareth in the Guild of shadows and one is Luitenant Morgane...

They all dont say mouch...

It is clear that has to do with camelots security somehow.

Although after getting the same message I went to the ogre camp and there was Furious Ogre running around, screaming, waving its arms, and foaming at the mouth...after he slipped and fell on my sword....I got the message "Its scream echoes through the foilage and disturbs the peace of this timeless place"
Then I turned round to see about 10 ogres charging down the hill towards me, one was an Ogre Lord, I killed that first, and the other seemed to disappear, with 2 seers left, I killed one, and the other ran off before I hit it.

[EDIT] And I thought the epic message that appears in camp forest mentioned lightning or thunder or something, unless there is more than one epic that gives out a message[EDIT]

(I know I'm from Excal albion but hell)

This is interesting. Someone else noticed the camp forest message, and was told it was part of a quest. I remarked it wasn't the academy one as that's a clap of thunder. Someone else said it was a standard quest.

Does anyone know for sure?

Also, the ogres is interesting. Where was it you found them?

Luitenant Morgane? Sounds awfully like Morgana or Mordred..

clap of thunder is the lvl 40 achademy epic, i wont tell anyone what its for, but just be happy thats it :)

The ogres are in a camp, if you follow the road from CU to Lethantis they are just a bit down the road, on the left hand side

And I was told that message was a quest to do with the oak men, but it can not be coincidence that everyone has been doing the same quest all at the same time now..

Lieutanent Morgane says that she is too busy worrying about the castle security to talk.

Also there is a drunken kobold jester that hangs around near the forge dancing :)

I thought it wasn't to do with a quest - bit too coincidental that it's all happening at once.

OK, some more info...there is a ghost named Kyla on the pass to Llyn Barfog..and it seems that she will speak to sorceresses, this is what she said:

"Kyla says, "Because of the 'Father of the Monsters' mistake, the dead slave gave birth and fled into the frozen lands of "Wolfwheat". By the displeasure of the 'irons', he who live beyond the 'yawning rock' must take it back and, once again, lock in my domain. By the desire of the 'hanging iron', if she came to fail, the father of Forseti shall be free. The slave and his mischievous offsprings built a terrible world from a flesh of 'the Giant who got lost in his blood for three time nine years', and there hiding, feasting on his usurped undead life.
Short is the time left to offer him back to the sister of the catastrophic fate of the 'one-armed iron'.

Now, if anyone can have any guesses at any of the things mentioned by here, please feel free to post so we can start trying to unriddle this.

OK, Phoenix Legion has found 3 ghosts in Albion, one in Snowdonia, one in the Barrows, and one on the way to Llyn barfog, they all say the message above when spoken to by a sorceror...we have seen one more ghost near Bledmeer in Odins, and have heard of a Ghostly Paladin near the Glacier Giant which we will check out later.

Dial-a-rez one of the co-gms of my guild did this resurch into the text

For those who don't know, the people at GOA are organising a summer campaign based on a series of Events, specially scripted stories run by the GOA staff.
What follows are details of what is either the first or second Event in this campaign. I haven't worked out if last week's Ball was linked.

"Kyla is a ghostly palladin who hangs out on the edge of Barfog, we found her at 62,33

The big clue here is the name Forseti. He was a figure in Norse (Middy) mythology, his father was Balder who hung out in the palace of justice, Glitnir.
I'm also wondering if the "irons" she refers to a couple of times are Albs, "irons" meaning armor clad knights. Seems possible as she's a pally.

Which leads me down a disturbing train of thought. We know this is an inter-realm event, so it looks like Albs are getting clues to where the Middys should be going. They in turn are probably getting clues related to Hibernia's Events, which means the Hibbies are getting clues on OUR Events.
So Albion's progress in these Events is dependant on the intelligence of the Hibbies.... "

Theres also a new npc in snowdonia called Kold and someone mentioned to me that there is a smiliar NPC called Kall, who says exactly the same thing;

(Kold opens his mouth as if he wants to speak to you, but nothing comes out)

Well some of the ideas we have been having as to translating the message are:

Wolfwheat = mentions forzen lands..so if in albion has to be Snowdonia, which is full of ShadowWolves at night...or could be Odins, where we have seen 2 ghosts that have yet to be questioned.

Yawning Rock = Can be in reference to a cave, or dungeon entrance....or could be talking about the Glacier Giant, where there is said to be a ghost nearby.

Oh crap..just thinking about what you say about 'irons' Balbor.

"By the displeasure of the 'irons', he who live beyond the 'yawning rock' must take it back and, once again, lock in my domain."

So if Irons = Albions...and if Yawning rock = GG....then those who live beyond it are Midgardians....which anything that they take would be to the displeasure of Albions..

I have already said, Kold Kyla and Kall can only be spoken to by sorcerors...and any other ghosts that give you a similar message will probably need to be spoken to by a sorceror...and Kold, Kyla, and Kall all give the same message when spoken to by a sorceror..the message I posted earlier
