The Best tank ???

OK i have heard alot of discussion about which is the best of the best tank. I no there all suppost to be equal but please leave ur views on what u think is the best tank in Hib

Anyway not saying its the most for to play but it seem all the other hib tank classes have some problem like valor , hp for champs and well bms they are total gimps ,)

No doubt hero, and the following spec i presume:

Shield: 42
LW/CS: 50 (for RvR)
Blade: About 27-30
Parry: 20-30

Think this is about the best hero, and remember: Get dex/quick high for additional block/parries!!!!

First I've heard of it...

I've grouped with a lot of tanks, and Ice always seems to know what to do according to his abilities and his 'job' as a tank.

There is simply no other tank I have ever grouped with, who I'd feel safer with.

As far as I am concerned the best tank in Hibernia is Tank.

I was thinking it might be nice to have a duelling event, where the duelmaster can allow two same realm members to attack each other, and only each other.

That might help sort this out

quik is the most sucky stat for a cs/lw hero that want to make some feirsome dmg coz every 10quik it lowers your spd on the weapon by 0.1 or something

my specc is with items and rr3

Blade 11+7
Pirce 8+3(want to try the taunting with pirce)
Shield 42+6
Parry 37+9
Cs 50+10
(or it will be when i get my last 5% been lvl 49 for about 15weeks or so)

Ok, i have to eplain this.

QUICKNESS DOES NOT LOWER THE SPEED OF YOUR WEAPON!!!!!

Heres the deal, when fighting with weapons, there is 3 things affecting your damage.

spec/stats(these are kinda obvious, the higher the better)
speed(this is blurry to alot of ppl, and i will explain)
dps(this is also kinda obvious, its your weapons base damage per second without any modifiers at all)

Speed:
The weapon speed determines your base damage per hit.
Quickness or ANY qui or haste buff(not sure about haste, definetely sure about qui tho) will NOT change your BASE damage BUT increase your swing time. This of course means higher damage.

BUT(yeah, here it comes) Styles are on a static damage per second table, so no matter how fast/slow you attack through any qui buffs or anything, your style damage will be the same after say 20 seconds(assuming all speeds hit their last hit exactly at the same time).

Because of this, you will see lower damage on styled attacks on your individual swings with higher quickness, but the base damage(you know, the damage your "fire blade(+25)" comes up on top of) will always be the same. But you will swing faster making up for this.


This more or less boils down to 2 things.
High quickness over time means more damage
Low quickness over time means less damage BUT higher damage on the FIRST swing.

Ok? everyone get it? QUICKNESS DOES NOT LOWER YOUR DAMAGE!!!

Am tank junkie. After some dr00d experiences on beta i was doubtfull betwen LW Hero or LW Champ on first "release" days...
Atm its more like CS Hero or LW champ? Best 2 tanks in game imo.


- Cs Hero will get slam from shields (9s any time stun), will have a shitload of hps + 1 "instaheal"x30min (m000se), bonus against clerics, minstrels and almost everymid (trusth-chainwearers)

- LW Champ will get more keys to press (valor casts), will have easier chasing job 'n' anti-casters stuff (interruptors, dd, snare, stun from behind from LW), bonus against alb tanks (crush-platewearers) and will need lots a friendly ressers (no hps).

Champs will weaken their oponent and deal dmg faster than heros (dds) but CANT take hits. Heros are like walking-walls but (as many tanks) will cry @ peeps getting away just by pressing sprint. Imo best thing is to get both classes playing together.


ps: i should point at incoming str/con selfbuff as great improvement for champs but... wont really make a difference, yeah more dmg and hps but its a buff, hero gets some buffs from friendly dr00d and ouch! we are back to 1.4X.
