The best relm?

What do you think is the best relm of the three?

I want you to take into account how good they are in RvR, how fun it is, how good spells look, how good people and armor look, characters, the people in the relm and so on.
Guve reasons for your choice.

My favorite relm is hibernia. I'm not just being baist because i'm a hibbie. I started in albion. I have played and trained to at least lvl 13 in all 3 relms and i find albion and midgard so boring. Some of the spells in albion look really cool but they suck. Hibernia are better than albion at magic. Midgard are better than hibernia at fighting but fighting isn't so good in RvR because you can't attack from a long range.

I play albion, probably not the best variety for char models, but we have the most clases, and so have more specialist people.
Example that our fire wizards do the most damage, but have little else to offer(only a single root, no speed, single bt only, single buff only)
But then ablion has theurgist's, which r great at rvr and the only class to mass-pet people and also having mess/root, buffs, pbt, and speed

from my point or view or rvr, hibs are mainly casters (easy to kill), mids have lots of hp's (toughest realm).
But then as a caster i'm weak to nukes so hibs will easily kill me if i get too close.
It also depends who get the mess off first.


I'd say its not realm but the player that decides who is best at rvr.

if i hadnt chosen midgard at the start of the game (hey, who doesnt want to be a viking? ) it would probably have been hibernia.

but definatly NOT albion.. reminds too much of home.

We could go on and on what looks the best and what are the "best". Mythic actually tried to make all realms equal, with different skills.

Lets start with a cleric from Alb side. Insta heals, main buffer in alb, great DD, Insta PBAE mez and DD, Chain, lots of hitpoints. Strong character. Some say overpowered.

Minstrel. Stealth, chain, 2xShouts, Insta stun, Mez, Speed, speccable weps. Stealth + chain is a weird combo when manual sez only studded and lower can stealth. (But then again the manual is full of bull)

Albion mages, are pretty much balanced. 3 pet classes, 1 summon, 1 charm and 1 chainpetter. 1 nuker. All skills divided amongst em all.

Alb tanks should actually be the best tanks, but its not true tho. Polearm is supposed to be the most damaging weapon, or halberd. Plate is supposed to be the best armor. But then again, they suck, slash sucks, polearm styles suck and plate is too vulnerable when most Mid/Hibs go Hammer/Blunt(=crush).

Mid classes.

Shadowblade, the most damaging assassin ingame. 2h weapons, great PA damage. Nice styles from CS, more hps etcetc.

Runemaster. Jack of all trades, master in all for a change. PBT, Speed, Bolts, DDs, Root... you name it. Best mage in midgard, also can be dwarf which has loads of hitpoints.

Skald, Fighter with 2 insta DDs, Insta mez, Speed and 2h weps. Damaging SOB. Very.

Middie has only 2 mages which divides the skills bit unfair. 2 classes less than Albion.

Hibernia then... Caster realm with nice bolts, dds and nearly everyone has stun.

Ranger is probably the best archer ingame. Fast bow, nice damage, self buffs, instaspeed. RP farmer deluxe.

I havent played hib that much, I cant see the difference from Eldie and Enchanter really I think Enchanter has pet but not sure Generally I think Hib has the most balanced classes. No "overpowered" characters. Only what Ive heard that Blademaster and Mentalists are gimps but I havent studied em that much so kinda hard to say.

There is no "best" realm, sure other have advantages against some classes/realms/mobs, but in the end, it all comes down to the skills of the players. Tactics and skills.

Dont chooce realm 'cause of the Realm itself, chooce it by the class you want to play.

I've found it much easier to Level in Hib than Albion - perhaps its the people... I don't know.


However, I did try mid for a little while and found it just as easy to level a char as Hib and I have found during some 1 on 1 RvR battles my Alb tank seemed better than yellow con mid tank and my hib chanter can do some unnatural damage against tanks in alb (BG, so it may be a little bias).

All in all I think what Kron said was spot on.

(with a small caveat that Mid seem to be very powerful RvR)

Only advantage to Hib I see is that less of the l33t d00ds seem to hang out there...

As it is I went a highlander mercenary to begin with coz it sounded cool

I've started 3 other alts on albion coz thats what yer allowed...

I tried a champion on hibernia but it's hard being out there with no friends (when yer used to knowing a truckload of people). And I'm enjoying my other characters... I'll be back though

Got a hunter on Logres who's fun but again the same problem of
knowing no-one (plus not being able to speak the language very well)

As for classes:

Midgard has the fewest classes, Albion has the most.

The same abilities were given to all three realms just about - so Midgard has more abilities per class, Albion is very specialised.

Versatility is good, but the Albion ones can generally do one thing better than anyone else. (Being a one-trick pony ain't great though: weaker bolt + nearsight beats strong bolt+ spec DD one on one.. thankfully it's never about one on one.)

Hibs are more helpful to others (although there are helpers in every realm). But Hibs need more people so they wanna help anyone they see because they have hard times already. We in Albion are with a lot most of the times but a lot doesn't mean a lot of good ones.. Midgard is a realm that is in between I think.

And most of the times you just gotta meet the right ones.

now that i think aout it, it is kinda strange that midgard is supposed to be the mellee realm and the best tanks have the same type of armour as a healer.

and i didnt make a highlander because i wanted the be a viking

and i hate albion with all my heart.. but thats another reason entirely.

Basically, just go read http://www.classesofcamelot.com/ and choose a class that sounds fun to you. Realms are pretty much same, even though everyone can come up with 100 reasons why realm X is better than realm Y.

well minstrels with chain is fine I think. but if they want to stealth I think they should have to change to lighter armour (studded/leather). Isn't that how it's supposed to be in a proper rpg?

No point arguing about which is the best realm as has been said. However my favourite classes so far....

Hibbie-Enchanter - I've played a spirit master on mid and Enchs seem so much better. Dmg add/shield which can be dished out to self/pet/anyone. Normal pet buffs and nice nukes, aoe stuff. Also you can select your pet type. Nuker/Tank/Mixture/Group friendly healer/tank. Fun class.

Middie-Hunter - Charming a pet to help is great and makes this class very versatile. Can stealth, use bow, has pet, can tidy up mob quite well in melee. Also self and pet buffs and a rather handy 30sec haste (on a timer).

Middie-Skald - Tank on speed. Dmg/Speed/Regen pulsing songs. Mez/2 DD shouts. Very powerful class.

The most friendly realm I've played on is by far the Hibernia realm on Excal. Everyone helps each other out. In the early levels I was constantly getting buffed by passing mages, which made leveling easy and fun, easily beating yellows/oranges. Now as a level 16 Ench, I do the same for any and every lower class player I see. What a great place

hib has the best tank (hero) and midgard has arguably the best RvR caster, runemaster. Go figure.
Like Khalen said, finding a guild or friends that you enjoy chatting with is going to be far more important than whether you're in the 'best realm' or not.
All the realms have some nice classes. Albion and middie scenery is imho a bit more 'finished'-feeling and certainly a lot of hib mobs seem to be similarly-named and rehashs of models.

Not stealthing while wearing chain, eh? In a true RPG? Hmm, as I recall, 3E AD&D rules let you stealth while wearing plate - granted you need an insane stealth skill to make up for the penalty, but hey

albion i would say. ive tried all the toher realms

midgard:cool races. dwarves kik ass and u can have little racial scwables . uber skald, only one casters (spirits are poo at the mo), bit short on the classes side, nicely made towns,villages(i love haggerfel!!).

albion: nice assortment of classes (staff spinning healer, caster in chain which can heal, plate armour, 4 caster classes. And best ploted out realm, monsters,towns,camelot which is the most well made city out of the 3.

hibernia: midgets and green giants. naff landscape all green and trees (much worst than midgard coz they have snow,gray,lava,shit coloured grass). classes are pretty funn and scale looks better than chain, bit empty realm really.
