Lets hope it doesn't fall victim to 'The Curse of Mars' like most other craft that try and get there.

I want to find this project interesting, but it's really not. They'll find nothing of interest, there's loads of probes that have been and gone without much gained. Other than The Sun breaking news that there maybe life somewhere, somehow.

The leader of the project is quite funny though. Keep expecting to break into song and clap his feet. I've got a brand new space probe...

:( I'll get my coat.

Methinks that the 2 large NASA rovers will be of more intrest, both about the size of a golf cart and arriving at the red planet early next year.

But its travelling at 12500mph...isnt that interesting enough??

Also it will be landing in a "crater" which supposedly has/had volcanic activity and also has ice there.

The heat and ice is therefore conducive to having had some sort of life form...

Actually, only a very few craft have made it as far as the surface. The results from the Viking craft (the first to land) were inconclusive - basically, they tested the soil for the presence of life, and got positive results. They then baked that soil, and retested it, and got negative results. Although this can be explained without life being present, it still leaves the results open to interpretation.

Understanding how our universe works may seem boring to some people, but it has far reaching consequences on the way we live, and the technologies available to us.

Over half of all probes sent to Mars are never heard from again....

They just dissapear...

Must be the Bermuda triangle of the solar system.
