The Batman Film that never was....

Mid-1940s

Directed by Orson Wells

Batman....Gergory Peck
Joker.....Basil Rathbone
The Riddler.....James Cagney
Catwoman......Marlena Dietrich
Two-face......George Raft

The film was in pre-production and ready to start shooting, but due to so many arguements between Orson Wells and the studio (mainly because Orson wanted to be Batman) it eventually collapsed and was never made.

One of the more interesting "what ifs...".

To be honest, there is only one joker that ever fitted the role and that is Jack Nicholson.

Not even going to talk about the best BAtman...grayjumper4tehwin! :D

I agree that Jack Nicholson was superb in the role.

As to the comments above, I wasn't making this up. This film did exist, and those actors were cast in the roles, but it all collapsed prior to the shooting.

What if the sperm that made me went up the right fallopian tube instead of the left? Ye Gods!!

On the topic of Batman, they are making another one. Lets hope they don't cast yet another Hollywood nancy boy as Batman again. Mr. Keaton was the best actor, I think. Well, the first film was the best...the rest were shit.
